Dejan Farkas14th February 2008Excellent Gabriel ![]()
Jad Diab14th February 2008cool shredding man, got a question though, on the last video (the sweeping) it seems that when you do your sweeping you're doing a sort of "baret" (on the 10th fret of the G B E strings for example) well when i do it your way, i sound like i'm playing a chord, so what's your technique to mute adjacent strings while doing your sweeping
Keep on shredding man
Freebird14th February 2008Zizi Top, you have to roll your finger so that part of your finger is fretting and the other is muting the strings which you don't play. It takes some practice ![]()
whoa! very nice!

I will def. learn this one:) Or try it atleast:D
rocker66627th October 2011Awesome lesson! Can anyone tell me what scale do the tabs 10-8-6 of the B string belong to? They are in instruction no. 2. They would neither fit in A harmonic minor nor in E minor as mentioned in the main page of this lesson. I am quite new to scales and am trying to understand how they work. Thank you!
Ivan Milenkovic27th October 2011Hi rocker,
Here's the complete video 2 pattern:
You are right, note F is not belonging to E minor scale (F# does). This note belongs to A minor scale, or E phrygian mode (same notes, same pattern, only depends from what note you start: if you start from A, it will be A minor, if you start from E, it will be E Phrygian)
Gabriel probably used E minor throughout the solo, but use E Phrygian feel in this particular part. Not sure what is the reason, but if it sounds good, it's all good, no worries. If you want to know the specific reason behind his decision, you can possibly send him a PM.
For any more questions, feel free to let me know, I'll be glad to help ![]()
rocker66630th October 2011Thank you Ivan! That made it crystal clear.
I just wanted to make sure that my understanding was correct. And yes, as you said, if it sounds good, no worries. ![]()
Ivan Milenkovic31st October 2011Sure thing mate, cheers ![]()
