Welcome to this new smooth jazz lesson! In this lesson, we'll develop some easy listening licks over a simple modulation. We'll improvise over the keys of G Phrygian going into G Ionian.

The first step would be to familiarize yourself with the shapes of the scales we'll be using. Then play it over the backing track just to familiarize yourself with the color and the sound of them. Once you are comfortable with that, memorize the licks and try to play them in different keys so that you can incorporate them in your own music.

Have fun!
