We are starting out with a chord - this is a great way to "establish a tonality" (A minor) when play unaccompanied. The "3b" is struck with an artificial harmonic - produced by holding the tip of the pick close to the thumb (see picture below).
Some more artificial harmonics craziness! For this phrase I played downstrokes constantly to hit artificial harmonics on every note - I was particularly successfull when bending! ;)

This kind of two handed tapping lick "à la Greg Howe" is completely based around my 101 tapping lesson 3 with tapping lesson 4. A run is created by combining two different patterns and ending on a bend.
No double stops (two notes played simultaneously) are used previous to this lick - saving up your strong cards is a good idea!
I am also adding a whole bunch of random extra notes to the pentatonic scale here - if you have been sticking strictly to a scale - it's nice to break out from it to create a contrast.
Great Solo! I'm going to start doing something different than just doing the solo. I am going to take the licks I like best from all of the solos and create my own.
Kris, I have a little problem - hopefully, you can advise smth:)
When I play fast the 3rd part with some effects I produce lots of noise while ascending to the next string. It happens when I tear my left hand ring finger away from the string...
P.S. how can I change my name from my "e-mail" to my normal nick?
hey kris. Great solo. I'm trying the tapping part as discussed in Video #3. On the note where you have to tap, should you pull the string back back towards you a bit so the note after will be heard clearly?
