@ TheProof: Yeah also you could record this one! It's much more difficult than it looks at first look! It's not all about speed but CHOPS. There are some tricky things here so take your time and record this lesson for us to see! smile.gif

i will record it and i never denied the brillance of this song! i think its wicked so firstly i want to say chill i stand by the fact that i dont need to prepare to pick FAAAAST for this nps. that was fast! i will prepare and do that fast then ill start working on this but i'm in the middle of alot of things im gonna aim for a video responce to this in perhaps the next 2/3 weeks and the nps ill aim to have that down in the next 12 hours just to prove that not only can i play fast, i can learn fast

That would be Pinch Harmonics my friend!
Pavel
post 5th May 2007

Here are the settings (from 1 to 7):

LOW: 5
MID: 6.1
MID FREQ: 4
HIGH: 3
GAIN: 5
DISTORTION MODEL: 5

I plug it into my amp using OUT 2(MIXER). I have Marshall Valvestate AVT50 amp. So here are the settings of the amp (0-10):

BASS: 2
TREBLE: 8
(i don't have MIDDLE for the clean channel)

I hope you'll be able to get at least similar sound with those settings!
Enjoy it! smile.gif

@Luke_PL: That's the artificial harmonic (or pinch harmonic as The Uncreator said). There are LOADS of topics about it in the forum.

just tried it out, and its an awesome sound, thanks for info, and keep the lessons coming

PS
I remember reading i think in the comments you were going to something on Luca Turilli, if you do, you should work some melodys like the ones in the solo to Unholy Warcry, the solo is full of awesome licks!
Pavel

Yeah i love that song!

But the talk about Turilli was realated to my record that is coming soon! It has orchestral arrangements so that's where Turilli's style gets in!

Thanks Pavel, I especially like the up beat stuff
you do (anything with major tonalities), also
supplying many backing tracks with small jumps in
the bmp is very helpful in getting the lessons up
to speed!

Hey pavel,
just a nuther question.
How long did it take you to figure out this lesson on guitar? and did u do it by ear?
Pavel
post 24th May 2007

Instructor

You're welcome!

I love to play this kind of riffs so they come out pretty fast! Some lessons take ages to complete - you get first 4 bars but can't get the other 4 and you start going crazy hahaha But some of them come out pretty easy! It depends on the day and mood!

Have fun playing it! smile.gif

My new Favorite lession.. its probably been said somewhere and i can't see it, but what BPM are you playing this at?
Pavel
post 18th July 2007

It's 160 BPM - you can always find that by opening the TXT tab or open the Backing Tracks window - the fastest track is the original BPM.

I can't friggin' pull that harmonic!!! We're the harmonic lesson!! Well my thumb is about the size of a friggin mallet so that's half the problem....awesome lesson though...I dig the mix of harmonic squeal and chucky speed picking
