Pavel3rd May 2007thanks for your feedback! ![]()
The metal effect is a simple Digitech DF-7 distortion!

Pavel4th May 2007@ TheProof: Yeah also you could record this one! It's much more difficult than it looks at first look! It's not all about speed but CHOPS. There are some tricky things here so take your time and record this lesson for us to see! ![]()
TheProof4th May 2007i will record it and i never denied the brillance of this song! i think its wicked so firstly i want to say chill i stand by the fact that i dont need to prepare to pick FAAAAST for this nps. that was fast! i will prepare and do that fast then ill start working on this but i'm in the middle of alot of things im gonna aim for a video responce to this in perhaps the next 2/3 weeks and the nps ill aim to have that down in the next 12 hours just to prove that not only can i play fast, i can learn fast
The Uncreator4th May 2007Pavel....You Kick Ass, keep these awesome riffs and kick ass lessons coming!
Alright Mr. KICKASS is there anything you cant do?Im just curious man, anyways kick ass lesson Pavel, keep it up!!!!!!!!!!as always YOU F#$%^&* ROCK

The Uncreator5th May 2007"The metal effect is a simple Digitech DF-7 distortion!"
Wow really? what are youre setting on it, i have the same Pedal, and i love your sound!
Sweet playing man. Question though how do u make that crazy eehhhhh sounds thats tabbed <>.
Keep rocking out.
The Uncreator5th May 2007That would be Pinch Harmonics my friend!
Pavel5th May 2007Here are the settings (from 1 to 7):
LOW: 5
MID: 6.1
MID FREQ: 4
HIGH: 3
GAIN: 5
DISTORTION MODEL: 5
I plug it into my amp using OUT 2(MIXER). I have Marshall Valvestate AVT50 amp. So here are the settings of the amp (0-10):
BASS: 2
TREBLE: 8
(i don't have MIDDLE for the clean channel)
I hope you'll be able to get at least similar sound with those settings!
Enjoy it! ![]()
@Luke_PL: That's the artificial harmonic (or pinch harmonic as The Uncreator said). There are LOADS of topics about it in the forum.
The Uncreator5th May 2007just tried it out, and its an awesome sound, thanks for info, and keep the lessons coming
PS
I remember reading i think in the comments you were going to something on Luca Turilli, if you do, you should work some melodys like the ones in the solo to Unholy Warcry, the solo is full of awesome licks!
Pavel5th May 2007Yeah i love that song!
But the talk about Turilli was realated to my record that is coming soon! It has orchestral arrangements so that's where Turilli's style gets in!
The Uncreator5th May 2007Awesome,cant wait to here your album material. so just let us know when the best album of 2007 comes out!
What scale are you using for the runs?
I'm gonna try write something like this myself ![]()
Pavel7th May 2007E-minor scale!
Gustavo7th May 2007i cannot get that accentuated ah without bend it :S
help lps
i need help on harmonics im not getting the sound effect i want
Thanks Pavel, I especially like the up beat stuff
you do (anything with major tonalities), also
supplying many backing tracks with small jumps in
the bmp is very helpful in getting the lessons up
to speed!

Pavel24th May 2007Check the Andrew's "Time 101" lessons in Theory Section! It's all explained there!
thanks
Hey pavel,
just a nuther question.
How long did it take you to figure out this lesson on guitar? and did u do it by ear?
Pavel24th May 2007About 30 minutes, maybe less, i did it all by ear, just as all the other lessons i do! ![]()
sweet
thanx for the up lift
really
Pavel24th May 2007You're welcome!
I love to play this kind of riffs so they come out pretty fast! Some lessons take ages to complete - you get first 4 bars but can't get the other 4 and you start going crazy hahaha But some of them come out pretty easy! It depends on the day and mood!
Have fun playing it! ![]()
whammybar922nd June 2007Nice riff. I've only learnt to play it at 130 BPM for now.
Guitar3420th June 2007this lesson rocks and im only eleven and i can rock out on this!!! Thanks Pavel!
hard, i cant do 140.. stuck at 130 XD
Smikey200618th July 2007My new Favorite lession.. its probably been said somewhere and i can't see it, but what BPM are you playing this at?
Pavel18th July 2007It's 160 BPM - you can always find that by opening the TXT tab or open the Backing Tracks window - the fastest track is the original BPM.
rrhoadstributeplayer24th July 2007pavel loved this lesson really love the tune..more power metal stuff
Verbity24th July 2007I can't friggin' pull that harmonic!!! We're the harmonic lesson!! Well my thumb is about the size of a friggin mallet so that's half the problem....awesome lesson though...I dig the mix of harmonic squeal and chucky speed picking
Pavel24th July 2007Here is the harmonics lesson:
http://www2.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-g...onics/index.htm
dang, i can do the alternate picking at 160 its just so hard to get the harmonics at that speed lol...
rrhoadstributeplayer28th August 2007love this one pavel..need more stuff like this
Jopie28th March 2008awesome!
Carlos Carrillo9th May 2008very nice lesson Pavel!!!![]()
I wish i had a drum kit maker for stuff like this.... lol bad ass lesson... pretty hard and fast... the way i like it... lol
Awesome mate! I just wanna thank you for this, the first section has opened up a whole new book for me, as a new metal head its really helpful. I'm totally stealing that first riff lol, well I'm making it my own, hope you don't mind ![]()

This is a challenge for all metalheads out there who love agressive metal riffs. This lesson is full of cool alternate picking stuff so even if you are not into the metal your picking can gain a lot if you use this lesson as an alternate picking excercise! Get in and prepare to pick FAST!
