Hello GMC'ers!

So we're finally at the advanced part of this solo. Most of the techniques here are not really that difficult, but they should be played very fast which makes it a bit more tricky.

As usual in my solos, the timing is not that important. So you can slow down or speed it up whenever you like. I think that approach adds an improvised feel to the solo, which sounds pretty "alive" to my ears.

Note: In "video 1" you'll find the complete solo (beginner to advanced)

I have increased the tempo with another 2 bpm, so now we're at 124 bpm. And we're still in the key of e-minor.

Once again you leave me in awe. Amazing job on the entire thing, you should have more three-level-lessons lead into eachother like this one did (beginner, intermediate, advanced). How Yngwie himself isn't bowing down to you is beyond me.

More often than not, I find it unnecessary to add even more acclaim to a long list of compliments. This, however, is an exception.
Marcus, your blend of stunning speed, technique AND melodic feel, is absolutely breathtaking. The last detail, the final note, is what separates an awesome guitarist from a guitar giant! I have watched/listened to that not twenty times already, and will probably do it fifty times more over the next days.
Respect!

Marcus,
Thanks.... I'm going to get the Podxt Live and I'm pretty sure your patches should work on it. What brand wah are you using? I've got a bunch of questions for you but I will keep it short for the moment. Keep on rocking and great job on the lessons!

No, I just bend the 12th fret on the B-string there. And I bend it up to 'D' (three frets/half notes).

Marcus,

Do you kick the wah pedal in at the part on video 4, the legato stuff, or do you have it on during the whole song and use it in other passages?
Pi38
post 17th April 2008

I think he kicked it in at that part, because as soon as it turned on he got up and put a little weight on it so it would click on.
Marcus Lavendell

@Jeff
Pi38 is right. I use a Cry Baby Wah for that part, but I turn it off when that lick is over smile.gif
