Great one Marcus, and cool new angles!!
Looking forward to intermediate and advanced stuff!
VERY nice Marcus! Those 'over the shoulder' cam angles look great too. D
what kind of pickups are those? your tone is amazing!
oops, just read the faqs in the forum. those cant be stock pickups!! they sound to good/high output!! next time you change the strings mabe take a peek, there might be a brand name or something on them. .... OR mabe you DO know what they are and you just dont want to tell for fear of someone stealing your tone!!! that might be a good decision - because i would definately steal it!!
superb as always marcus great sound
Awesome playing Marcus! + the new angles rule!
People - stay tuned for more angles in some upcoming Pavel lessons!
Das ist sehr gut!!
Excellent stuff, dont no if my german is correct but i think you got the idead, Great Solo!
Awesome man. Im gonna learn it right away. Love your lessons. Keep them coming

Q:Awesome playing Marcus! + the new angles rule!
People - stay tuned for more angles in some upcoming Pavel lessons.
Hehe im always tuned:P im eaven on this website when im at work
Awesome lesson Marcus, cant wait for the next levels
And btw, the new angles are awesome!!
Hi Marcus - I love the epic feel to all of your solos
Great lesson Marcus! Those are some tight bends you got going on
Love your stuff as always Lavendell! Do you guys post your podxt patches or whatnot so we can practice with same stuff?
one questin Marcus. Why do you change pick ups every 5 seconds? I've never seen someone change pickups so much.
Not say thats bad or anything, your probably my favorite teacher on here. Its just something I was wondering.
great lesson... ireally like your
i hope there will more of them...
Another great lesson from you Marcus, and the new angle works perfect! Nice job.
great lesson! i dont think ive ever seen you use your pinky =P
One thing I would add is that i still find it useful in lessons when the patterns are shown on the fretboard rather than just saying what key its written in. Still takes me a while to work out which pattern is being used although the act of working it out is probably helping me learn it. Great lesson though sounds cool and is easier to play than it looks at first sight.
Thanks everyone! Sorry for my late reply!
@ misterj: I don't know what pickups I use on this guitar, but then, I don't think that's the key to the tone. It's more about how you tweak the amp, and the way you play.
But I see what you mean... hehe! I would have been a smart move to not tell anyone, even if I knew what kind of pickups they are.
Try downloading my preset for PODxt, and see if you get the same tone!
@ preownedguitar: You can get the preset from here: http://www.box.net/shared/hvayxvaif3
Dashooter "Why do you change pick ups every 5 seconds?"
simply because the bridge- and the neck-pickup sounds different. I think some notes sound better with the neck pickup, and some sound better with the bridge pickup.
Would there be any interest in a lesson about this? I think I could come up with some cool exercises...
Good point, I'll see what I can do.
I would definetely be interested in that.
well i can tell you......trust me the pick ups dont mean to much as far as the sound goes..i downloaded the patch.....I play a hmmm guess 100 dollars guitar....I call it the fubar guitar.....its a honer,,,,,gtx aria pro .some kind of steel bridge thingy...but i got it set up nice and intonated good....And i have the same sound..Its all the way you play the guitar with the patch that give its....tone useing legato is the key to the great sustain.....And thank you marcus for the great lesson on that
There is no way I can express with word how great your solos are! I will defently try to learn this lesson:)
I started on learning the first part of the solo and then I just couldn´t help improvising the rest with my minor knowledge on the CAGED "boxes". This track is an amazing jamalong track aswell:)
But now, I must learn the rest of the solo;)
Thanks again for great solo a lesson!!
This is the first thing I´ve decided to learn when I got here.
I started learning it this afternoon and have got it mostly done. Just need to work on the feeling and the enphasis on the key notes.
This is a great solo and after checking the inter. and adv. levels, I cant wait to start learning those.
Well done on a simply awesome solo.
Gabriel De Rose
What an amazing solo. Like Andrew said, it has such an epic feel to it. I think I have finally nailed the beginner (minus that killer tone). I look forward to more of your lessons!
Love that solo. Why is that one called beginner? I dont even dare to click on intermediate lol
im starting to work on that one
hopefoly i'll be able to do it
looks hard,but it sound fantastic!!!!
Sorry i'm kinda new here, and i'm having a mind block while trying to learn this lesson. how do you play this?
3p-0-2p-0---0 (from the tab)
nevermind i got it ;D
are both the links meant to go to intermediate?
why isn't the guitar pro working?.. it sas that I need the new version but I have version 5...
I REALLY LOVE that triplet run in the last video. Thumbs up on these 3-level lessons, it really gives on an impression of ones improvement!
This is beginner solo? geez, I thought I was an intermediate guitar player, maybe now I might tell people I'm just starting, lol. Great job marcus
geez i really like your playing. you have awesome tone and great solos.
Thank you very much!!
Really digging this lesson, I still find it funny that even though the technique isn't the hardest that marcus has done, this solo is so beyond what a beginning guitarist would even think of phrasing or putting together. But hey you got to start somewhere, you lucky young gmcer's.
it says Intermediate twice when you select the harder lessons... just telling you. GREAT LESSON anyway
Thanks for telling me! I'll try to fix it a.s.a.p!
Never mind...keep practicing Marcus and one day you'll get there!! LOL
This is the lesson I show my friends when I want to see their eyeballs pop out in awe.
Beautiful Release Bending not so much "Beginner"
sick tone man. Im still in search for mine haha. Very nice solo
Incredible ... You're my man ! Thx for sharing this awesome stuff !
I am happy with this lesson.
Will start right away.
"Try downloading my preset for PODxt, and see if you get the same tone!
Where can i find your preset?
When is your next lesson coming up?
Already found the pod patch on
I'm having a really great time working on this awesome lesson.
However, is it possible that you put the video of the entire solo as well ? Because it's nice to play along and see if I can keep up the pace with you.
Thank you agin for this great lesson hoping others like it will come soon.
Keep up the good work mate ;-)
I really love your three-level lessons, they truly help people find things that sound extremely nice, but also fit their level. I also enjoy the way you add more and more licks and cool stuff as the difficulty increases, but keeping the almost exact same feel to the song !
Excellent tone! great lesson
