MickeM19th April 2007Fast runs down the neck work alright for me but I always, ALWAYS, have problem with runs upwards - like in video 4.
I've tried and tried but can't seem to get it to work. Like "Far beyond the sun" I manage everything up to the run similar to this video 4 (starts a bit higher on "far beyond").
What can I do to overcome this huge problem??? Moving fast to the left while staying in control don't seem to work well with my left hand.
Gabriel Leopardi19th April 2007Hi bayag. There's no secret there. Just put on the metronome at a slow speed and play it in 16th notes. Practice it 2 hours every day and diferent variation (ex: the far beyond part). Remember the speedest tempo you reach every day and try to improve it the following day.

Gabriel Leopardi26th June 2007Yes, it depends on how you feel more comfortable. There are some guitar players like Gilbert or Kotzen that plays in that way. However it would be great if you could play every lick with different fingerings.
