A power metal rhythm lesson inspired in the style of Angra, Stratovarius, Rhapsody of Fire and Sonata Arctica. When I finished the guitar work I recorded some orchestra arrangements based in a style created by the band Rhapsody of Fire called "Hollywood Metal".
Time for some more advanced riffs! In this lesson we'll work mostly on legato and downstrokes, and a tempo of 100 BPM will make it fun and tricky to play ;)
Inspired by bands like Extreme, GN'R, Jane's addiction and Aerosmith. The solo is a funky rock solo which includes lick in the style of Nuno Bettencourt, Dave Navarro and Slash.
I wrote this piece a while ago and think that it will tie a bunch of different techniques together. The tonality is E Aeolian and will combine melodic ideas, alternate picking and sweep arpeggios.
In this tune I used different techniques like palm muting, only down strokes rhythm technique, alternate picking, sweep picking, bending, hammer-on and artificial harmonics.
I chose one shape for major and one for minor arpeggios. The chords are typical 7, m6 and maj7, with few added notes with tapping hand. There's a sliding with tap finger as well...
Inspired by bands like Slayer, Exodus, Pantera and old Metallica albums, we will work at very fast tempo with riffs that combine "only down-strokes" right hand technique with some fast alternate picking.
Let's ecplore soloing over a major chord progression, using vibrato, alternate picking, legato, string skipping, slide, bending. Also - I used a hair elastic over the neck to avoid unwanted noise.
