Difficulty 4 of 10 Modern Blues SoloingHigh-Gain blues, typical to players like Gary Moore, maybe Satch and even Andy Timons! So, it's in key of C minor, lots of bends, few double stops, hard picking etc. Difficulty 4 of 10 Phrygian PentatonicsPentatonics are extremely useful to create cool solos. But what if we added some notes to them? How about adding to the pentatonics the notes that would make them work on modes? Difficulty 3 of 10 Pop Strumming LessonRhythm patterns using a crunch sound! This type of playing is often used in a pop-rock context. The strumming is quite similar to the drum rhythm. With your right hand you can play lower strings while the drum is playing the kick drum, and you can play higher strings for the snare drum. Difficulty 3 of 10 Acoustic BluesA standard blues lick on the acoustic guitar. The beat is 4\4 and the chords are based on E7 A7 B7. It's not a difficult one and it's fun. I think this is a good start if you are new to blues music. If you want to improvise on it, the E pentatonic with the blue note( a# ) will do just fine. Difficulty 4 of 10 Funky Riffing LessonDuring the funk era there were many bands and musician playing some really tight grooves. Here`s a little riff that is based on a classic funky groove. The main theme is played using the E minor scale and C5, B5, and A5 for changes. E7 and E9 chords are derived from E mixolydian scale. Difficulty 3 of 10 Beethoven Ode To JoyThis tune is the fourth and final movement of Beethoven's 9th symphony. This small piece is a very good exercise for both left hand and right hand. Difficulty 3 of 10 Classical TapsLet's study a nice classical idea using tapping. The whole song will only use the high E string of the guitar. The changes are very melodic and should be memorized before linking everything together. Difficulty 4 of 10 Dorian Pentatonics LessonThe secret is to add a Major sixth to the minor blues scale - it is what makes a minor scale sound dorian. Memorize the few boxes and then work on the licks. These should be helpful to build your musical vocabulary. Difficulty 3 of 10 Heavy Ballad SoloingThis is a great opportunity to explore how much feeling we have in our playing. Suitable for intermediate guitar players, this lesson shows that we can combine slow and fast melodies to express different emotions and cover different aspects of the playing. Difficulty 3 of 10 Pull-offs LessonKnowing that the pinky is weakest of all fingers - we'll be using it a lot here, to give it more strength and power. I tried to combine every possible fingering combination so I hope you'll achieve a lot from this lesson.
