This solo is written in F# harmonic minor scale, using some flat 5ths in some places and also some phrygian major scale runs. Paganini was called the Demon Fiddler because of the demonic air of his playing and his looks. Yngwie Malmsteen took many Paganini's stuff to make his own guitar style.

Sweep picking is one of the most used techniques used by Malmsteen.
