Arch Enemy: Arch Enemy is a Metal band from Sweden that was formed by brothers Michael and Christopher Amott and bassist/singer John Liiva in 1996. With both Michael Amott and John Liiva coming from successfull Death Metal bands they attempted to go a more melodic way with Arch Enemy. The most remarkable thing about Arch Enemy is the female vocalist Angela Gossow because female gutural growling singers are rarely seen.

Harmonics: Harmonics, divided in pinch harmonics and natural harmonics, are guitar techniques used to play high pitch notes. The fundamental of the string is being cancelled and the harmonic rings out. The pinch harmonic can only be done on stringed instruments. In heavy rock music, the pinched harmonic is very much used. In combination with the heavy distortion, it gives a great effect. Learn more in this great article!

Nickelback: Nickelback is a Rockband that comes from Hanna (Alberta/Canada) that dates from 1995. It consists of the halfbrothers Mike (bassguitar) and Chad (guitar/vocals) Kroeger, Ryan Peake (guitar/vocals) and Daniel Adair (drums).

Blind Guardian: Blind Guardian is a Heavy Metal Band formed in 1984 in Krefeld, Germany. Blind Guardian is one of the most influential bands in the genre of Power Metal with their lyrics about legends and epics with their main theme about J.R.R Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings. One of his awesome guitarists, Marcus Siepen, is also an instructor here at GMC!, check his lessons!
