Difficulty Levels

1 - Absolute Beginner
The lowest level lesson. Fingering is simple, tempo is slow and rhythms are regular. Explanations are very in depth and assume little or no prior knowledge. These lessons are aimed at beginners in the first weeks of playing guitar.

2 - Beginner
Slightly more advanced fingerings, rhythms are still easy, and no advanced techniques are evident. Simple chords appear. Proper playing by the student should show fluency, but at this level, instructor phrasings such as vibrato are not integral to the lesson.

3,4 - Intermediate
At this level we see evidence of some faster lines. We also note that the lessons incorporate slightly more complex techniques such as hammerons and pulloffs. These lessons will also start to feature more complex theory, and the introduction (although not mastery) of harder techniques such as sweeping and hybrid picking.

5,6 - Advanced
At this level we start to see faster Alternate Picking, more complex rhythmic figures such as galloping and triplets, along with some more complex chord shapes. In addition, we will see use of 3 note-per-string scales, higher tempos in general and more advanced sweeping and hybrid picking.

7,8 - Very Advanced
Picking reaches and exceeds shred speed, we see the inclusion of harder to play exotic scales with large stretches, and more complex chord voicings, again with large stretchings.

9,10 - Insane
Wall to wall technique, no easier parts to provide relief, these lessons all have that "Wow" factor. Most pupils will not be able to play lessons at this level at full speed, but they are a great resource to use to figure out what techniques you need to work on to get to the insane level!
