So my band, Mortal Man, finally finished our new took forever, but here's a sample track. It's a concept album and pretty much flows like one track from start to finish(that's why the track starts a little choppy, it's flowing from the track before). The idea is that all of our songs, even ones we've starting writing for the second album, are part of an ongoing story. It's a tale of the ongoing battle between the Champion of Forever and the Time Immortal. This song is towards the end of this album. At this point the Champion has killed the Time Immortal, but in a last sinister deed the Time Immortal falls to the Earth in the a rain of fire scorching it, killing everyone and turning the world to glass. Now the Champion is sailing the see of glass in search of the Sage of the North to help him find the Temporal Nexus in the hopes that he can use it to travel in to the past to stop the Fire Tide....,BUT he ends up being sent in to an alternate dimension instead. Please let me know what you think!

Ok, so for the other guitarist in my band's 30th birthday we(the band) decided to pitch in and get a him one of the Earthquake Disaster Transport delays. It's an analog voiced digital delay meant to emulate a tape delay. Typically I'm not as big of a fan of digital delay as analog, but I will have to say it's one of the best sounding delay pedals I've ever heard. I'm really impressed with how good digital stuff is starting to sound these days. Check it out for yourself:

Just saw this today:

Breaks my heart to see them go, but they're getting pretty old and I'm sure they're done with touring. If you've never seen Priest live I highly suggest you make it to one of the dates they do for this tour. They're amazing live and I'm looking forward to seeing them again next year...even if it is for the last time.

This is why I love my wife so much. Since I started playing guitar 17 years ago I've always wanted a Les Paul, but I've never been able to afford one. Well, I'm turning 30 on October 2nd and for my brithday this year my wife decided to surprise me and got my friends and family to pitch in and buy me a real Gibson Les Paul Studio. I'm completely serious, she really got me a Les Paul for my birthday and she even let me have it 2 weeks early since it already arrived. Without a doubt this is seriously the best present anyone has ever gotten me in my entire life. Man, I'm such a lucky guy for having such a thoughtful, amazing wife. Seriously, I've had a smile on my face since it arrived. Pretty rad birthday.
