Upon graduating college, I started my career in accounting working in downtown Chicago. Although I had a very stable living and was financially secure, I was not happy. After working over a year and a half at this job, I became depressed. I didn't want to say that I never gave my dream a chance. So I quit my job and just started practicing. I put together a website, made a couple of recordings of my stuff, and started looking for guys to start a band. Although I haven't found a band yet, I love practicing. To me, there is nothing more important than spending a couple hours a day practicing and getting better at something you truly love. If there is one thing that I have learned throughout this whole ordeal, its that achieving a goal you never really wanted will leave you feeling empty. I found that out in my accounting career. It's nice to fall back on my college degree when I'm 50, but right now, I'm taking a shot at what I really want to do.

Original lesson: Targeting Chord Tones: Marty Friedman Style by Ben Higgins

My guitar was tuned down a whole step so I re-recorded the backing track in the lower tuning and played over that. Hope that's cool! Thanks in advance for the feedback,

Seeing Manowar tomorrow night live in Chicago! HAIL!!!!

Anyone see them play before? They put on quite a show. They are loud as hell and there are plenty of guitar solos. Plus Joey DeMaio gives a couple speeches - that guy is a little nuts!

Hello again friends, it's been too long!

I am looking to buy a new recording interface for my PC to use with Guitar Rig 5. I currently have an M-Audio Moblie Pre, and I cannot seem to get a good sound out of it no matter what settings I try. I'd like to sound like to have the quality of the recordings that the instructors have in their lessons. From my understanding, I can just have a guitar, plugged into the audio interface, and then use Guitar Rig 5 as the preamp right? I can get a pretty good quailty recording from that right?

My budget is $250-$400. I only really need a couple of inputs - one for guitar and one for the mic if I'm using it.

Original lesson: Mark Knopfler Style Lesson 2 by Muris Varajic

I was hesitant to post this one because I played it with a pick and also played the last 2 sections differently, but I decided any feedback would help me. Thanks.
