Hiya all,

Ive been playing guitar for a while now and have a pretty good understanding of the basics. (he say`s). I started off learning the Am penatonic scale and progressed from there. However i only now scale patterns, but i dont know the notes i playing and i feel it would really help me to know where every note is on the fretboard and life would be so much easier i feel. I know the chromatic scale but wondered if anyone had any good tips on a good way to getting to know the notes on the fretboard.

Cheers guys

Hi guys,
With all my years of playing the guitar the one thing that has held me back big time is actually playing along with somthing. I mean i can play along with a song like metallica, G`n`R ok but when i practice with a metronome or a friend its sounds well out of time. Its funny i know whats in time but cant seem to play in time. Ive gone back to the metronome lesson time and time again. Playing at 100bpm is hard for me, so i thought it was really strange when today i had a look at the lick of the day and played the blues lick fine with 105bpm and sounded great. So how can i play the blues at 105bpm but not with a metronome. And any suggestions on whats the best way to practice i would be gratefull.
Cheers

Hiya all,
just wanted to say hello to everyone.
Im 30 years old and been playing guitar now for about 15 years on and off. I play as just a hobbie. I first started teaching myself through books and all etc etc for the first 2 years or so. Then took up lessons which was fantastic, helped with my technique. But now for about 10 years aint paid no attention to guitaring, however i was getting really bored with the same old thing over and over again. Was wanting to go back to lesson again but money was tight, then came across this site. which is just so awsome. Been playing for 5hrs today. Its like when i first started, i cant put the guitar down smile.gif .
Rock on!
Chris
