I've been working on building myself a little home studio for a while now. Been thinking of adding this to my setup. The price on it is unbelieveable.

wondering what other peoples ideas on this might be. From the reviews i've read it seems like it can be hard to set up but once you get it set up it works wonders.

although another $200 is going to be hard to find since i just bought a Korg padKontrol.

I just got a PreSonus FireStudio Project as an early christmas present and found this deal online. Thought i would share

i'm gonna be sending away for mine tomorrow.

I'll probably write up a review of the FireStudio Project in a few months. It seems really cool but was a bit of a pain to get working correctly in windows (got a few crashes and BSOD errors wh ile messing with settings).

been having problems with my right hand and how to hold a pick. Everyone seems to hold it different. I've always held the pick between the pads of my thumb, pointer and middle finger. Seems like most people hold there's between the pad of the thumb and the first knuckle of the pointer finger. I can do this too. actually i tend to pick faster and more precise this way but i can't play rythm holding a pick like that.

I was watching videos on this site and seeing that allot of people anchor thier pinkys to the guitar. I've been trying this but my hand seems to be allot slower. Also from watching avenged sevenfold and dragonforce they actually hold thier picks so they are angled the other way. so your hand is almost below the pick. This actually feels pretty natural for me but i can't play everything like that either.

I guess i just need to pick a style and stick with it...

what do you guys think?

been a member here for a moth or so. don't really browse the forums much. anyways.....

i've been playing guitar for over 10 years now but never really took it seriously. I am trying now to improve. The lessons i've practiced here have helped me improve greatly. I'm starting to practice with a metronome all the time now. It's been helping allot but i still have allot of bad habits to get rid of. Lately i've been using pavel's ionian speed picking lesson as a warm up. Just play it slow a few times while increasing the metronome slightly every time through. For those of you without the funds to get a metronome check out this site: Metronome Online

I'm also getting much more serious about writing music with my friend. We are called Dustbunny Nation. You can check out our stuff here: Dustbunny nation Myspace

Hopefully our site will be up soon here: Dustbunny Nation

Unfortunately non of our recordings have me playing guitar due to me and my friend living nearly 300 miles apart. We are intending to head into a studio shortly to record a 4 song demo.
