so after the Symphony X vs. DT battle, throw in your favourite bands and also rather unknown ones ppl. should know.
Always love to stumble across new stuff.

so here are some examples (no particular order)

Symphony X and DT were already on topic.
guess Opeth needs no further introduction either

Redemption

Andromeda

Pain of Salvation (obviously earlier stuff), Ayreon and Shadow Gallery.

some less mainstream:
Disillusion (great german band)

Cea Serin

Leprous

Aspera

Instrumental stuff:
Animations

Stride (this is some huge underrated stuff biggrin.gif)

that's it for now, guess I also missed a lot of stuff, so keep the posts coming

Amazing list mate! You made me remember Redemption which is a band that I really like, the singer is the one from Fates Warning, isn't he?

yep he is, great voice.

also nice stuff you posted, the vocal lines in that Eldritch song had some eastern vibe at some points.
made me think I should also add stuff like Orphaned Land and Myrath here.

Fates Warning! My first power/progressive metal band took its name from one of their songs... smile.gif This song has more than 10 years...

That vid/song was just FREAKIN AWESOME. The Road Warrior clips were a perfect choice.

As far as Prog Bands go, I have to strut out SPIRAL ARCHITECT yet again. smile.gif

The guys in this band were so freakin good, that when they broke up, each went on to be the "Ghost Player" for some of the most insane music you've probably ever or never heard. When extreme bands needs to record the nutty stuff that they can barely play, they call these guys.

**From their wiki entry.--
Drummer Asgeir Mickelson played drums for Norwegian heavy metal band Borknagar from 2000–2008, as well as performing session and live drums for a variety of bands including Testament, Sturmgeist, Vintersorg, Enslavement of Beauty, Ihsahn and Lunaris. Guitarist Steinar Gundersen has since 2000 been working as session musician for Norwegian black metal band Satyricon. Steinar Gundersen and Lars K. Norberg are members of the black metal band System: Obscure. Asgeir Mickelson and Lars K. Norberg are members of the death metal band Thornbound.

Nice call on Spiral Architect.

Some of Spiral Architect's music always reminds me of Watchtower. Watchtower only released one album with this amazing line up from 1989 "Control and Resistance" album. The vocal are not everyones cup of tea, but the music makes up for it..

thanks mate! I keep on recording metal music but as I explained in my Vchat, I'm not playing live in a band. This is another project more progressive oriented.
