GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Vai Explains.

Posted by: Jesse Jul 8 2008, 08:17 PM

Here is a link to a download of a PDF file of a book called 30 hour workout by Steve vai, he explains everything and there are exercises for fingers/scales/shred/sweep/jam everything!!! It's based for a three day 10 hours per day lesson plan. But of course, im not going to do that.. but I'm going to use the excercises and for inspiration.! http://s1205401546.onlinehome.us/guitarbt/download.php?cat=00%20-%20NEW%20SONGS%20(NOT%20SORTED%20YET)&file=Guitar%20-%20(Book)%20Steve%20Vai%2030%20hours%20workout&ext=pdf

I've disabled the link for the time being while we sort out whether this is free or copyrighted material - Micke

I´ve bought the Guitar World some months ago. There´s the interview with Vai and his excellent work-out. It´s really well-structured. Have fun! tongue.gif

It's excellent!
He did that 4 years ago, as a follow up to his 10 hour workout published in 1990. wink.gif

yeah, I read it few years ago and it's interesting, but I think that each one must find his own method. BTW it's an interesting inspiration biggrin.gif

QUOTE
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

IMO, the most important piece of advice! smile.gif
