Aside from that TS 9 there should always be a reason to go bananas with your guitar (or without it) on video! Cool prizes, cool contest!
Go everyone!!
man this is great! looking forward for the insanity!
What if your attitude is the lack of attitude?
Like this awesome guy:
Great prizes! The TUBE SCREAMER would be an awesome addition to any setup.
Todd
You run the risk of boring your audience to tears which is never a good thing
So who is going to break the ice?
This is the real guitarist attude!
Well said Bogdan Don't force it, just let it happen. How it sounds is honestly more important than how it looks but how it looks can't be ignored or we wouldn't use video. So give it a shot and be you!
Here are some tips for this competition :
- Choose the lesson you feel you are most comfortable playing.
- Select the one that expresses you and your style the best.
- Hit the record button
- Play the lesson and ENJOY it
We are not going to evaluate if you missed the bending pitch or lacked vibrato - but rather how much you felt and enjoyed playing it. For example you can try playing more aggressively then you usually do (to emulate the feeling of playing on stage). Just pick harder. Or you can play more softly if its an emotional solo that you are performing? You can make crazy faces like Kris does OR stay cool ? ) Possibilities are endless!
And it's even okay if I change the key of the backing track? I've got an idea!!
Im sure having to show metalhorns at the beginning is throwing people off - its so cheesy
has noone uploadet a video for the competition yet?
I'm thinking of doing Canon Rock, but I'm not really awesome at it. I'm torn between it and another lesson. :/
I'll go for Mate's Hard Rock Insanity
Okay, obviously someone has to break the ice, and I'm volunteering
As you can see, Metalhorns are not too cheesy for me...I watch a lot of Sci-Fi B-Movies, so I'm used to a lot of cheesiness (if I can call it that).
I chose Adrian's awesome "metal for rockers" lesson but had to practice over and over again to play it as clean as possible while banging my head and shaking my guitar. And I had to wait until my neighbor leaves the house, cause I couldn't use headphones...nearly broke mine when I tried it with them and they fell off my head from banging...
Enjoy!
Christian
Will the deadline stay like this? I really like to compete with you guys, but I don't really like when I have to hurry to get it in in time and then the deadline gets raised...
I'll record Canon Rock soon! Is it okay if I play it a half step lower?
Awesome Guitarrero!
Thanks a lot Maharzan!
That rocked! Cheers
I'll see if I can come up with something for today
Okay here is my take. There are some minor mistakes, but the backingtrack covers them nicely I messed the last note, so I censored it by deletion
The guy in the blue jeans didn't synchronize 100%, but it was my first try at merging videos, and it was quite difficult in windows movie maker:/
\m/
EDIT: oh forgot to say, it was lesson by Kai Muhlenbruch, he made three lessons few years ago, check them out, all are great (and he has some uber attitude also:) )
Thanks Ben! Last year I was looking for "easy" level 7 lessons (I made a new year resolution to record 4 such lessons and it appeared I can't:P), and this lesson is relatively easy and great sounding, so I practiced it from time to time for over a year now. Haven't posted it for REC because it felt bit like cheating
EDIT: also there should be a link to Kai line6 tone preset somewhere in the comment section of one of his lessons if I remember correctly.
YOU FREAKIN RAAAAAWWWWKKKKKK! My face just melted Well done!
I think I can be the next Kristofer Dahl
Or I'm a failure
Great video Filipe.. these all kick major butt !!
Great videos, guys! Really cool and entertaining!!! I'm getting some ideas!
I am going record something soon aswell. Just wait and see
\m/ \m/ Nice work guys! I hope that these first few entries have inspired the rest of you out there. I really look forward to the next couple of days because the deadline is Friday and I know there are some of you getting ready to rock our faces off as well!
I recorded mine. I just need to do some final touches on the video editing and then upload it!
It's a crazy video for sure!
Do I have to be fully clothed in my video? Is it acceptable if I just wear one black sock? and not on my foot?
...No Ben, it won't be a childs ankle sock
lol
Okay, so it's not perfect - but it's about attitude right? Well, I gave it some real attitude. My personality is being funny, so I had no problem doing this while playing guitar. I just can't play 100% like that. LOL But I had fun. Enjoy! Good luck to all competitors!
I bought those $10 sunglasses for this video and for future videos.
And that hat...oh that hat...haha... I've had that hat ever since I was 7 years old - and maybe younger! Ahh the memories....
It's says Nike on the other side.
Fireball that's epic ! And I love your tone, it's fantastic
Thanks, Ben!
I can see YouTube messed up my syncing. It was fine on my computer.
Awesome entries.. Good Luck to you all.
I'm gonna re-upload my video, and hope to get the syncing a bit closer.
JUST FIXED THE SYNCING ISSUE. LOOKS BETTER THAN IT DID.
Hi GMC here is my video for the Attitude Competition:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRM3AbdGdW0
Hehe, that was awesome, Amir! I really enjoyed that! Great execution and attitude. Love that tone too!
Well, wasn't really into this kind of stuff.. but since I recovered my thumb rupture about 2 weeks ago and been able to use the pick again, I have been practicing this lesson for about a week. Interestingly, I was able to 130bpm before the accident and somehow, I could push myself to do 140bpm quite ok (without the faces). So, I decided to submit just for fun and today is the last date.
Well, a hard lesson and absolutely fits with the show attitude theme. A lot went wrong with 'faces'. The first try today was pretty good but I thought well, I missed one note so I will try and more I tried, the worse it got. Anyway, Instead of rupturing another ligament, I thought this is okay and its not about playing anyway. I couldn't do much faces as I wanted because the playing was getting worse and worse but hopefully you will all like it.
Thanks guys. I hope I can do original tempo of this lesson in few weeks (well, been practicing this for a year or so, who knows).
Good Luck to you all.
Last day and i havent had time to submitt a take yet bet i am going to do my best to get it done tonight.
<turns of the computer and goes to the corner of the room to cry> That was skill incarnate Chandra!
LoL.. thanks Marek. Don't hide.
ALright guys, 6 hours left! Make those final adjustments and get those videos uploaded. To all of those that have submitted so far, nice work.
Finally here is my take
Awesome entries guys!!!
Anyone else interested in entering this competition?
To all you head-bangin', metal horns throwin', and mean muggin' rockers that submitted your takes in the "Show Your Attitude" competition, WE SALUTE YOU!!
I must say picking winners was quite difficult because each and every video displayed tremendous amounts of attitude. After a long debate we have chosen.
1st: Fireball- 5 minutes of entertaining, classic rocker stance, great head bangin', and great facial expressions.
2nd: Rated Htr - great head bangin, priceless facial expressions, and having a cape always helps!
3rd: Superize - awesome facial expressions, good head bangin', good energy, and a solid metal horns ending.
Congrats to the winners! I must say that we do have to honorably mention the following members:
Gitarrero - nice metal horns, great head bangin', and awesome facial expressions.
Marek - split screen rocked, also great head bangin', and good energy.
Amir - great exaggerated strums, great angles, and nice full body bangs.
Maharzan - super technical, great facial expressions, and good energy.
There you have it GMC'ers! Nice work. For all of those who didn't get the chance or missed the competition, never fear, there's many more to come!!!
Winners: Please send me a PM with your addresses to receive your prizes.
