I`m giving this a lot of thought all the time and I`ve had a couple more ideas and wanted to know what you guys think.

One thing we dont want to happen to our bands is let them stagnate, in order to keep the ball rolling I think it will be a good idea to set target dates for your final mixes.

Obviously with Christmas looming up on us (very rapidly!!) there will be holidays etc so I dont think this side of Chrismas/New year is reasonable, I dont want this to be a race to the final mix or anything like that, I think the "Band Leader" needs to decide and be clear on when he wants to post his final mix by and relay this to his band.

I think this will help keep things moving, keep interest going and also the people waiting to join any full bands will know that they havnt got too long to wait before they can be involved.

I have some other ideas that are still "forming" in my head at the moment so I wont post till I think its appropriate, i`d like to know if you think this is a good idea or not and also any suggestions from anyone would be gratefully recieved. Look forward to your thoughts

Thanks
Chris

While a deadline is a good idea, I think that deviding the whole recording procedure into smaller goals is more efficient and less stressful! smile.gif

Like I did today with my band, I set out a small goal, to decide on our song by the end of the day, and we did just that.

A small suggestion is to the mods/admins, to post this sub forum on the main page, that way it might attract more people to join the fun smile.gif

Yup thats great Iluha, I really want the Band Leaders to run their own bands the way they want to, thats the sort of thing I`m going to be doing, dealing with each part and as you say setting little goals, excellent biggrin.gif

Another idea for the future that JVM has come up with is the band leaders to have a guest spot in one of the other bands, I thought that was a good idea, and think also get some instructor involvement (if they have time ofc I know they are busy) later on and having them "guest" on your songs biggrin.gif

Signatures for your band

I personally think this was an awesome idea by Bondy who sorted an excellent sig out for all his band mates, and has very kindly sorted out my bands sig too.

Maybe something that all bands should think about doing to add some extra unity, I`ll leave this decision down to the individual "Band Leaders" but personlly think its well worth doing, especially if your good at this kind of thing (which I am not at all sad.gif)

Cheers
Chris

I work in photoshop for almost 3 years...Somethings just come in handy ^^...Smells, I think more experient recording players or so should give proper indications to beginners since some bands might have more difficulty on doing their recording...

I've got a suggestion that might be fun to do after we get the ball rolling a little more. Maybe have a battle of the bands type of thing with awards given out in different categories. Some categories could be... Best Cover, Best Original Song, Best Solo, Most Listened To, and anything else people can think of. Prizes could be things such as a trophy avatar, maybe a mention on the front page, or even a lesson of their song by an instructor or a GMC t shirt and other stuff. This will bring a type of friendly-competitive feel to the bands and will definitely encourage more band activity and maybe some more bands to pop up. I can't think of anything else so if anyone likes the idea and has something to add feel free.

Hi AliMo, yes I quite like this idea for the future, I think we`d need a few more bands first and catorgories like you said is a good suggestion, also I think they`d need to be grouped ie.begginers, inters and advanced.
Thanks for your input really appreciate it smile.gif

Keep the ideas coming please smile.gif

We could also use the chatroom where bands can exchange ideas and help each other...

...Or we could just tie Smells up and see him burn biggrin.gif
