Done, and thanks for contributing - brilliant Alternative Rock! Great list. I will check into all those, not familiar with a lot of them. Not on your list, my favorite recent band, from Las Vegas Nevada, The Killers http://youtube.com/watch?v=3Oec8RuwVVs |

Somewhat ironic about BD and DADT Twibeard that a big corporation forced the name changes when most of the bands, and many of the record labels (ie SST/Dischord), set up as indie to oppose big corps . I'll change the subject to avoid a political argument on your thread though mate .
A few more for the list: Indie - Free Kitten, Mission of Burma, Wolf Eyes, , Liz Phair, Band of Susans Experimental - Nurse with Wound, Matmos, Karen Findley, Controlled Bleeding Post rock - Manitoba, Cul de Sac. A stupid question but how are the different genres like "indie" and "post rock" defined?
-------------------- My bands homepage
All time favourites: B. Streisand - Woman in Love, M. Hopkin - Those were the days, L. Richie - Hello |

Manitoba released two albums that I know of: Start Breaking My Heart, and; Up In Flames - both on Leaf Records. They won an award from the Canadian Independent Music Awards back in 2002. I may be wrong but I think they changed their name late 2006 and recoded another album under their new name. I put them in as post rock but I guess some would classify them as electronica.

Albino, mate ... do you have a youtube link to the Chavez guys? I got some emails recording that group. Still enjoying the Stoner group Wolf & Cub ... if they ever get to Europe ... I can help getting some gigs in Oslo ... let me know mate. Twibeard Wolf & Cub finished an international and then Australian tour last year. They finished the tour in Adelaide and announced that one of the 2 drummers was quitting to study, so I don't know where their heads are at. [I don't know them personally, but enjoyed seeing them live] The radio station JJJ has concert footage on youtube; tasty. Wolf & Cub 'March of clouds' http://youtube.com/watch?v=2-yNrkrgGmo&feature=related Chavez 'Unreal is here' http://youtube.com/watch?v=xz9En8CIVBw Pleased to help Twibeard -------------------- |
