Ive been addicted to some video game music composers like Nobuo Uematsu, Go Shiina, Motoi Sakuraba, and Yasunori Mitsuda. Anyone else fancy this kind of music?

here is a song by Motoi Sakuraba on Tales Of The Abyss OST. Its called Meaning Of Birth. Way too short for such a masterpiece. I think its much better than dare I say, One Winged Angel laugh.gif. Listen to it now!

FFX was the weakest of all Nobuo stuff, still decent/good songs though. IX and VI are his best of works smile.gif.

Nobuo Uematsu is one of the most brilliant composers of all time, his work on the Final Fantasy series is amazing, Another one of my favorites is Akira Yamaoka, Composed music for Silent Hill, i know not an RPG, but his music has an atmosphere that no music has ever reached, purely haunting and mesmerizing smile.gif

No discussion of RPG music is complete without mentioning the awesome work done by Saori Kobayashi and Mariko Nanba for the soundtrack to Panzer Dragoon Saga (an RPG for the Saturn that is almost universally praised as one of the finest games ever made).

Heavily instrumental (i believe only one track actually contains vocals) it is a very unique an ambient piece of work.

If you can find it i highly recommend it. Just don't expect it to sound like something from Final Fantasy!

Meaning Of Birth

I really think you have to play a game to really appreciate the music, I never played TOTA and I really didnt think much of that piece, but im sure if I had played it, it would have more significance to me, I find the most powerful thing about game OSTs is the nostalgia! laugh.gif
