IMO

bending and vibrato
legato (especially pulloffs)
alternate picking
palm muting
sliding
chords and arpeggios
string skipping
chicken pickin
riffage and downpicking
octaves chords
tapping
sweeping
speedpicking

which is.. most of them tongue.gif

even if you got all those techniques, don't forget learning your scales and mastering them, cause they're really usefull if you want to use your techniques and compose songs... wich is the most difficult part i my opinion

How about touch technique and 8 fingers tapping ?? I know that both techniques are a variation from tapping, but it's interesting to though in this ones in a different way ...

Alternate picking! Make sure you watch the Chris speed picking lesson he goes into details on how to practice this right. And use metronome! If you want to sound good and play fast there is no way around it. smile.gif
