Hey all

Here's a song I wrote and recorded using Guitar FX and Audacity, therefore the timing is a tad off sometimes but I think it's ok overall. It contains 3 guitars wailin' but no other instruments. It's still a work in progress so tell me what you think. Oh yeah it's a metal kinda song

Enjoy, if it is any good that is. unsure.gif

It has has a cool, almost industrial feel to it. To qualify as a song we'd need a little more in it (first step would perhaps be to include drums/drum machine) smile.gif

So i listened to the song. I think its a cool Hook and definitley a good attempt. All though I definitley thinks its repetitive it sounds like its the same hook over and over but it gets higher and lower. I'm not putting it down at all I just think that it needs some change in it. But i do like that pattern very mystical sounding like old metallica but slower.

Ries, you don't have a song yet. You have the beginnings of what could be a bad ass song!!! Songs take several pieces all put together. They take structure, cadence, dynamics, and most important melody. You have structure and candence, however "at this point" your missing dynamics and melody. For instance, if you closed your eyes and imagined yourself on stage and started throwing out lyrics, there's no doubt you would change your structure. How you are feeling would change the Dynamics. And melody, to me it's just what happens.

When it comes to melody, you could play a D, C, & G chord over and over. Add the words Johnny is running. The first time around put all the accent on Johnny. Then sing it agian and put the accent on IS. Lastly, put the accent on running. All of those are different melodies.

I love what I heard. All songs mature. Looking forward to hearing what you do!!!

There is a huge difference between asking the band to make a song verses bringing a song to the band. Since you bringing the song be prepaired to give and take. When you came up with what you have, you had an idea in your head. You had a feeling. Take the recommendations, but never give up the feeling. So what if it is not a number one. It's about the song. Not the number one. Number one's will come. Willie Nelson once said that "you have to write a song a day." I say some songs are for you, some are for the crowed some are for family and so on. The key is to never stop writing!!!!!!!!!!
