Ok, so I'm getting a new guitar, in the next couple of weeks, and
I just thought I might ask some of your views on these two guitars,
that I'm considering, I have tried them both, I love them both,
but I can't afford both of them... sad.gif

The guitars are Ibanez JS1000BTB Satriani and Music Man Axis SP

Attached Image Attached Image

Give me some information on these guitars, good or bad, to point me to the right direction..

Cheers smile.gif

i would say get the axis, if you get it with humbuckers and not soapbars as on the pic.

but in the end it should your own decision

There are only ones with the soapbars in them
What's the difference between them,
is there a huge sound difference, Ihaven't tried it
with humbuckers.

I've never played an Axis...but I played a Satriani similar to that one and I was blown away by it!

It depends, BOTH are very playable. The axis has a bit of a smaller scale I think. You might want to try checking out http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product...sku=515550]this musicman if you don't mind not having a tremolo, which would be my choice.

Well, there are a lot of models of musicman that do have tremolos and all kinds of pickup configurations. Its up to you, like I said the musicman is a smaller scale I believe, but it is very fun to play and sounds great. I'm sure the satch guitar is also awesome though.

Thanks smile.gif I have also thought about if I'd get a custom made guitar from MK guitars ( the one Muris uses smile.gif ) That would be so cool, but I would need some serious help with that, maybe I could tease Muris with my tormenting questions biggrin.gif

To be fair, I don't know a thing about the Music Man Axis SP

About Ibanez I have a very positive experience with the high end Ibanez I've tried. No wonder I bought one. Also I just saw Satriani live and his tone is absolutely killer.
From the photos you put also the looking of the JS is much nicer than the other one, so I would not think twice.

Something got me thinking, if I really should go for the custom guitar, first of all it sounds nice, and it looks so sweet (judging by Smells' and Muris' guitars smile.gif ) I know it would take a long time to get it, but it would be totally worth it, to have my own custom guitar smile.gif

Both are great, as you said. I'd say it comes down to which one feels best ergonomically smile.gif

Custom is something when you pick all specs by your needs,
stock guitars usually have something extra we don't want
or miss something that we would like.
But both of these guitars are fine instruments,
actually pretty tricky to be compared. smile.gif

I don't know the cost of the guitars you displayed compared to a custom built but I guess it's not a big difference. AND the custom guitar will most likely be better built.
