the American Mojo with 2 humbuckers, new, natural wood finish. What do you think of that? Especially with the two hums. I know that David and JVM and Kris have the one hum and two single.

I pretty much like Gibsons, and Fender, but that Parker is the one guitar I have had my eye on.

Actually I sold my parker to organized confusion and bought a les paul with it. However, I would love to have one of those mojos one day, very nice guitars. Expensive, though.

what would you pay for a new one with warranty, if you were in the market? i see the internet price is about $1,750 for the wood grain finish, about a $100 less for color. I like to see the wood. but a person can always do better than those prices.

Parker make the best guitars in my opinion and the Mojo is one of the upper quality ones. The natural wood one is beautiful but have a look at the tobacco burst one as that is the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen. It is fairly expensive for a guitar but it is of such high quality in sound and design. It depends on what you play to whether you'd prefer hums or singles. If you want to play heavy rock/metal or other similar genres then it is best with hums. If you want to play funk/non-screamy blues then go with singles. Of course the hums can be coil tapped on that guitar to act as singles though so I'd go for that one

A slightly cheaper alternative would be the nitefly-m, similar specs but I'd probably go for the mojo.

I can vouch for this guitar as it is my favourite guitar I own. It kicks serious arse lol.

If those are the same pickups on it than on the other niteflys (the dimarzio customs) then they're pretty good but I think I'd go for the duncans over them. But I guess you can change them out

I don't like Duncan pickups. I much prefer DiMarzio pickups. But to each their own.

I did a bit of research (although my lead advice was from this forum, thanks). The pickups are specifically made for the Parker, if what I read is correct. The guitar has some unique tonal qualities, and that is taken into account, they are not the same pickups you would buy off the shelf. So you have to be careful about swapping them out. If what I read was correct. I am sure I will be happy with what I get.

It arrived. Took just one day to ship, because MusiciansFriend is located in Kansas City, just 40 miles from here. Fortunately it is located across the state line in Missouri, so that saved me over $100 in sales tax. So all in all, I paid $1,337 for a Mojo. Generally they sale for $1,759 with gig bag at Musician's friend, but mine was not only $400 less, but had a hard shell case for some reason.

I got what they call "scratch and dent". Typically these are customer returns, and often as perfect as straight from the factory. The Parker is perfect, not a mark on it, nothing whatever. Not even pick marks. I once got an Gibson SG Standard scratch and dent and it was the same, perfect. Also got a Gibson Firebird scratch and dent, and it showed signs of being played, but with some buffing it look pretty near perfect. And you get the manufacture's warranty.

So this to me is a great way to buy a guitar. If you wait for one to come up. And they had prices further reduced this week on them. If you don't like it, just ship it back and get a refund for 45 days. Which I won't, the Parker is neat. I still love my other guitars, but the Parker is definitely a keeper. Sounds great, and perfectly balanced, so nice to play sitting down as well as standing.

But getting a guitar a price not much more than I could sale it used for if I keep it perfect (which I will), with no risk other than paying for return shipping if I wanted to send it back, how do you beat that?

But I won't send it back. I still love Les Pauls #1, and nothing sound like a Strat with the standard Strat pickups, no matter how hard they try. But the Parker is real nice. No question, I don't see how anyone could not like this guitar.

BTW, I called them, and they answered the phone and talked to me first time. Always a good sign, that they support their product.


edit: oh, the wood is nice, nice grain nice piece of Mahogany, very pretty finish. Looks much better than in the pictures.

I will when I know more and use it more, so I know what I am talking about. But I am sure I will like it, this is very obvious just with a quick use of it.

I think any of the Niteflys are fine. I got the one with the good deal at the time price wise, but had a different one been available at 25% off, and this one not, I would have been just happy.

I have two Niteflys and love them It's a Parker Fly Select Koa for me next which is a Custom Shop guitar for about $11000. I'm saving now

Sorry for the newb question, but is there much variation in tone between the parker nitefly models, or are they all fairly similar? And are the nitefly models alot better than the high end P series models, like the P-44?

What about parker basses , who plays them? How do they sound ? Where can I hear them in action ?

well I have had a Parker fly Deluxe for a few years now,and there realy good instruments.Its one of my best guitars and easily one of the easiest to play,perhaps too easy!
One problem I find is the volume pots are too easy to knock and roll off tone or volume,and the pick up selector switch is hiding behind those pots too!I go through batterys too when rehearsing for time with the band,the batterys never go flat but I replace them as i can hear the tone changing slightly

One bonus is there light,A lot lighter than my other stage guitar a LP Classic-They also hold tuning very well no matter the temp or humidity

You can easily notice the difference between niteflys and they are so much better quality than the korean models. I have a Parker Nitefly SA and M and I use the SA for funky, jazzy stuff and the m model for heavy rock and metal.

I love Parker guitars and have 3 of them


I've had none of these problems with my guitars. It is all about your technique though to be fair. The batteries last forever if you pick up some high quality ones
