Alright guys im messing around with my Line 6 30watt Spider 2 and trying to run an effect loop through its clean channel here are the pedals for this loop

In no particular order

Small Stone Phaser
Cs100 Compressor Sustainer- Behringer
Boss Super Chorus-Ch-1
Boss Heavy Metal Hm2
and Boss Super Overdrive Sd1

Im running this straight from my guitar to amp as the line 6 doesn't have a effect loop.

Im relativly new to the whole extra effects, usually i just use distortion and flanger. And when i put these in no particular order my phaser doesn't work, all my chorus does is lower the volume and my heavy metal works but the sustainer does not do anything with distortion on. What order should these pedals be in to do their job? I need advice! sad.gif smile.gif !

Thanks!

Don't quite understand the question, you say you are using it in the effects loop, but then you say you are going from the guitar to the effects as you don't have an effects loop in you amp.

If you are not going out of the amp to the effects and back to the amp it is not an effects loop, it is different than going from the guitar to the pedals and then to the amp.

As far as distortion, overdrive you will want those connected like this: guitar-distortion-amp. Time based effects (delay, chorus, flanger) on the other hand work great on the effects loop.

If your chorus is just lowering the volume you are not setting right, unless it is broken, I am not familiar with this one in particular but you should have something that controls the level, the depth and the rate, mess with these knobs the sound should change.

Try this order

Cs100 Compressor Sustainer- Behringer
Boss Super Overdrive Sd1
Boss Heavy Metal Hm2
Small Stone Phaser
Boss Super Chorus-Ch-1

If I were you I wouldn't use that compression pedal at all, SD1 and MT2 both have more than enough compression mate.

Ill try this order right now and see if i have any luck, i must have been ill informed about the compressor pedal then, he never mentioned anything about other pedals doing similar things he just said it would tighten up my tone and that it was very helpful. I hope i didn't waste money.

EDIT: THANKS IVAN WORKING GREAT biggrin.gif

No problem mate. Glad you got things fixed.

Regarding compression, it is a term for making you signal a bit flat in simple terms. As guitar gives a pretty percussive signal (when you pick the note there's a big peak, and it goes off while the string is sustaining). SD1 and MT2 do not serve mainly as compression pedals, but they clip the signal in order to make distortion and in that process they compress it. This way they kill some of the dynamics. But nevertheless, I suggest that you experiment and see what kind of presets you can find with that compression pedal, cause it may well serve you after all. Cheers mate.

You can even try with dist and comp pedals before the amp/preamp,
put only chorus and phaser in the loop, see what's gonna happen. smile.gif
