Hey guys this is a sweep lick a thought of while jamming over a C lydian BT. It kinda outlines a E minor 6 chord (E G B C)

Tell me what you think smile.gif

The thing about being really stupid, is that there are a zillion ways to be a moron. There are usually several ways to be intelligent, given a situation, but it is a small finite number. But there are always a zillion ways to be to blithering idiot. So finding a new way to have the intellect of an artichoke is nothing to be proud of really, it is easy to do.

So true... To bad im still an artichoke haha

well, short for sure.

that was fine, but don't see the use in sliding down, you can just play all that in the first position. And in fact, thanks, that is nice, you can play that in the first position repetitively, two 6tuplets per pass.

edit: I take it back, I see what you are doing now. it was a quick 3 second video. So it turned out to be two things you taught me, one that you intended, and another that you did not, however I learned by misinterpreting you. Both are good.

I assume you are playing B G E C at bottom.

Whoa nice to get a comment from you mate, i love your criticisms.

By bottom you mean the top 3 strings? if you do then yes. The sweep starts with a e minor arpeggio (E G cool.gif starting on B with a C Tapped on the high E string. Then i slide town to the typical C major 5 string sweep in 15th(?) position.

Haha its short cause i kinda suck and it took alot for me to even shoot out that haha. Hopefully one day i can post a long sweeping lick XD

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

I would do a slow version like they do on lessons, and then a fast, so it is clear to see. But still thanks, it was good.

Sounds very nice mate, I love the tapping in between. I think some harmonization of the same lick on different chords would sound a killer!

Yes! that was the first concept i had for this arpeggio, thats what helped me think of it smile.gif Your sweeping lesson really helped me see chords within chords (Cause you play sweeps over chords to make 7 chords, i love it!)

Very good, but very fast tongue.gif

You could try to adjust the sweep to the scale you're using further up and down the neck, so you can add those and get a longer melody ^^

I like this. You played min6(min7-5) which is seldom used in rock/metal, try to continue that phrase od even jamm in min6, it sound kind a weird, but focus on certain notes, and others use as a passing tones.

Here is a quick min6 scale for you.

Track 1
Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q
E||-------|----------------------|----------------------|------------5----8----|
B||-------|----------------------|----------------------|--4----8--------------|
G||-------|----------------------|------------5----7----|----------------------|
D||-------|----------------------|--5----7--------------|----------------------|
A||-------|------------5----6----|----------------------|----------------------|
E||-------|--5----8--------------|----------------------|----------------------|

Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q
--5-------------------|----------------------|----------------------|
-------8----4---------|----------------------|----------------------|
-----------------7----|--5-------------------|----------------------|
----------------------|-------7----5---------|----------------------|
----------------------|-----------------6----|--5-------------------|
----------------------|----------------------|-------8----5---------|

Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q
----------------------|----------------------|--4----8----4---------|
----------------------|------------6----8----|-----------------8----|
----------------------|--5----7--------------|----------------------|
------------5----6----|----------------------|----------------------|
--5----8--------------|----------------------|----------------------|
----------------------|----------------------|----------------------|

Q Q Q Q Q Q Q Q
----------------------|----------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------||
--6-------------------|----------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------||
-------7----5---------|----------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------||
-----------------6----|--5-------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------||
----------------------|-------8----5---------|-------|-------|-------|-------||
----------------------|----------------------|-------|-------|-------|-------||

Actaully, this is scale in two tonalities Amin(first one) and Gmin(second)

Play with it, move them around the neck and so on...
