So i just finished my first kit. I say "first" because i believe now, that this wont be the last. I think however, i will save some money next time, and just get the components myself.. should be a LOT cheaper than buying the kit itself.

Anyways.. onto the kit.. I have created a post on My Practice Agenda talking a bit about the kit along with some picture..

To give you a little taste about it, here is a picture.. smile.gif

Feel free to comment or ask questions and i will try to answer them to the best of my abilities.. wink.gif

EDIT:
Hi guys
I have just created and uploaded some soundclips of the ITS8 replica.. I do hope you enjoy them because they took a LOOONG time creating..

And please also answer the poll.. I have no idea what a "real" tube screamer sounds like, so if those of you who know would like to comment on it, it would be fantastic.. It's much appreciated..

enjoy!

Very cool. What does the little toggle switch do next to the on/off light (to the right)?

I haven't seen that on a Tube Screamer before.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

It's a three way switch to give you the possibility to have different sounds.. I have also added another switch on the left hand side of the on/off LED.. That one will give you a boost to make your sound a bit more fat..

I will try and make a sound preview tomorrow.. I want to do it through my amp, but my GF isn't too happy about the amp, so i'll wait until tomorrow when i am home alone.. wink.gif

EDIT:
quick question for all of you..
how many of you have read the post about the pedal on my practice agenda?

Congrats on your project man!! I read your post in agenda..Looking forward to those sound samples...Also what would be cool is to have a comparison of original tubescreamer and this replica..That would be really useful...You just need to find someone that has the original smile.gif

Nice, wanted to get one of those for a while. But could never decide if I order the parts or the whole kit. I guess I get the parts and try to buy a different housing. My plan is to use a second foot switch instead of the left toggle switch. To use it as a second boost stage for live playing.

it's a good idea.. i think for my next project i will also get the parts myself.. i mean, the PCB schematics are available and the bill of materials as well.. should be a lot cheaper this way..

I thought about doing it with a second footswitch, but i added it after i finished it, so getting it into the already finished box should be as easy as possible.. i will definately think about it when i have to do it with my own box.. at some point.. wink.gif
