Just had a 90 minute practice routine... I did everything, but i used the metronome on guitar pro... its gonna take me some time to convert over to just a straight metronome, but ill do it... I just wanted to get used to my practice routine..

Also on muris phrygian advanced, i worked it up to 30 bpm and the notes ... it will be very hard to get this down with only a metronome, but im good with guitarpro...

ohh yeah and box 4 on muris phrygian soloing beginner is a nasty sounding lick...
Im glad im learning this, thanks monte and thanks muris for making these

Good job John!! Which licks from the advanced licks did you get to 30 bpm? Are you telling me you already memorized that legato lick? That thing took me like....forever to learn, and I JUST barely am getting it up to tempo.

Really try to wean yourself off the guitarpro, it is OK to practice this way, but I think it kind of turns you into a parrot rather than really allowing you to feel the beat and know where the notes should fall.

Also don't forget about breaking up the beats and turning 1 beat into 2 beats. Allows you to use a higher bpm on the Kaz-box. For that first beat of the Phrygian advanced, you would play two groups of five in two beats rather than a group of five, or a quintuplet, on the downbeat and one on the upbeat.

When you do your upload for these licks I just want to see you, your axe and the kaz-box....I'm a jerk....I know! tongue.gif

I just practiced that first section we were talking about on skype the other night... I practiced that one section for 20 minutes straight til i got it up to 30 bpm clean... I wanted to get it to at least half of muris speed before i go onto section two of this awesome solo.. and if youre up to 80 bpm then you are the man

I have mad respect for muris, not only for being able to play this but come up with this stuff

and i just wanted to get this practice routine down for a few days before i make a video and show
you some stuff...

Only up to around 80 on the sweep, legato and close on the economy. Nowhere near 80 on the AP lick. tongue.gif
Muris is definitely the man!! You should be recognizing all these licks as diatonic scale boxes. smile.gif

Close John......Check the Db triad...I think you leapfrogged to far. tongue.gif Make sure you tell me if they are major or minor..

USE THE CHART: I,IV and V=Major ii,iii and vi=Minor and vii dim=Diminished.

Outlaw...I meant to tell you to try and get the Phrygian beginner lesson done ASAP and a video posted. Once you get it posted I'm gonna give you a fun assignment. smile.gif I bet you can't wait. tongue.gif

Cool take, there was a bit of unwanted noise here and there, so try to mute the strings more, or use a preset that is less noisy wink.gif

Yeah, I use a preset that picks up every little noise... I figure that if i practice with this preset all the time,
then goto one that isnt as strong as that one ill just sound even better...
I always practice with high gain on my preset

Practice wasnt up to what i wanted it to be this week... I was working 12 -15 hour days wednesday, thursday and friday..
So when i got home i was exhausted and probably picked up my guitar about 30 -45 minutes each day... but i did manage to practice the Phrygian lesson some and go over some theory stuff with the help from jer...

Jer has been a great help to me in this theory stuff

next thing i want to video is my weak kaz box skills... probably gonna make a video on sunday night
after i drop my son off at his moms...

I need some help with that kazbox thing

ohh yeah and i have been working on this song also

i love the sweeps in here, but i gotta clean this song up more also...more kaz box practice
