Hey guys!
As promised, here´s the first collaboration that only involves you, the mentorees, and me, the mentor. Actually, this is the very first backing track I made and I´m pretty proud of it. biggrin.gif I hope you enjoy soloing to it!

First 8 bars: D Pentatonic, D minor (harmonic or natural), D Phrygian Dominant
Next 4 bars: E Pentatonic, E minor (harmonic or natural), E Phrygian Dominant
Next 1 bar: just simply nothing, or play D (which plays the rhyhtm guitar as well)
Next 4 bars. the same as in the beginning

I´d like you also to learn how to play the backing track. I tabbed it for you.
Attached File  metal_collab.txt ( 2.52K ) Number of downloads: 212

Attached File  Metal_Collab.gp5 ( 2.59K ) Number of downloads: 159

Deadline: 5th April 2009

Backing track: Attached File  metal_collab_BT.wav ( 12.79MB ) Number of downloads: 238

Someone who doesn´t hand in a take, gets a -. cool.gif

Have fun with it!

Tolek

Gr8! I see you put a gp5 file too. Would Guitar Pro be worth investing in?

What is the BPM on this? For the project file.

I´d first learn exactly the theory behind music and then buy it. Or another alternative: buy GP as a help for understanding theory.
However, there´s another program that opens those files, but I forgot its name. I know that it´s free and that it has the same options, but it is a bit harder to use.

The tempo is 120.

You don´t have to do anything excellent. Just play a nice melody (metal like of course wink.gif ) and stay in the scale. smile.gif

Hi Tolek

Regarding the slides in the backing track. What I see and hear is that you are sliding up and back without strumming on the return. Do I have that right?

cheers
