Have the mix pretty much done and half of the comments. My battery charger for the camera died and I have to do text comments for this one. Many problems these days for me. I might finish by tonight

For me, that I grew up with blues, rock and heavy, would be interesting typical concepts of jazz- fusion, like substitutions, altered scales, phrasing, etc, etc

I am with you Sergio but that will not happen soon unfortunately.
I will do collabs on substitutions and other advanced approaches, right now we are focusing on more basic things that are foundation to build into all the advance concepts !

Thank You for your comment Pedja! It was my first collaboration, so I didn't know what to expect from myself, I am not 100% happy with my take, but the whole outcome is better than I would expect. Now I am looking forward to joining other collaborations, trying to come up with something on Your own, and apply what have You learned is hard, but definitely worth it:)

Non Chord tones?? I'm sure I used the charts wink.gif That's why I transcribed the whole lead, or better composed it wink.gif The only thing that's not right was the timing, I have a hard time with that, but I have the tab for you.... NOOOO..... I threw it away xD NOO.... Sorry.... Stupid dry.gif

I'm very sorry about that, but I'm sure I used the chord charts!! Can you give a more specific time of where you thought I was wrong? I'll tab it out.

I am surprised and happy to get such a good review. I had the take all worked out ahead of time, but I struggled with playing it up to speed. Thanks for not mentioning the couple of notes I hit weakly. Your suggested approach of using voice leading gave me the idea I needed for this. It's very nice to hear how many nice musical ideas the group came up with for this using a strictly limited palette of notes.

But now you're going to expect me to do something good every time! biggrin.gif

Tolek (10:10 - 10:41)

Tolek you passed this class smile.gif If I had to give you a grade it would be a B- or C probably. Your solo had a lot of non chord tones which were not allowed(when I say a lot a mean more than one or two notes!). I know you could have done simpler solo and stick to actual chord tones but you choose to do differently.
I am only making hard comments for you because you are mentor and need to set example to all your students here at GMC. Thats why I am letting you pass this collaboration, but I am giving you assignment to submit me your solo in Guitar Pro file.
Best thing you can do is record a new proper take without non chord tones and anticipations and upload it at this thread any time.
I know you are very talented determined and hard working but I promised you I will give critique when you deserve it - now is that time wink.gif
Thank you for your take Tolek and I look forward getting extra assignment from you smile.gif

As you know, I´m fully aware that I didn´t do my homework correctly and I have to accept the comments (which I do everytime of course! laugh.gif). You made a good decision to let me redo my take in GP. I´d like to do a new one, but now I´m at my father´s and I can´t use my POD here, unfortunately. sad.gif
I´m very happy that you care so much about me and help me to develop and prepare me for university, sort of. Thanks so much!

After we get to advance concepts I am afraid all you guys will leave families and just play guitar laugh.gif
It should be lots of fun - next collab I am positive you will really like.

Sure thing Kaz.

E min 7 A min7 D min 7 G7.
Over A min 7 you play double stops (BE and F#cool.gif - non chord tones F# and B here.
Over D min 7 you use non chord tone B.
Over G7 you use C maj7 arpeggio so non chord tones are C and E.

Tab it out please it will be great exercise to analyze and see for yourself.

Thanks Kaz smile.gif

Jeff you did the right thing by following voice leading rules. The whole structure and melodic approach to your solo was very professional. I am glad you joined and submitted your take, definitely hope to see you in next one.

And yes I will expect good things from you every time biggrin.gif

No rush Tolek, I am here... Record new take whenever you can just get to it so I can correct your grade biggrin.gif

For couple of reasons Monte. One - it will help you learn more about Guitar Pro ; two - it you will learn more about your take and three - you can post it in your MTP board for the other guys and ask them to learn it (For example). Record video with it to make it even more easier for them.

Is that good enough or ?
