Start off with E minor pentatonic, or E minor scale mate. Then use the existing licks that you know, and possibly insert some runs as well. Doesn't have to be fast, just some sequences on top of the E minor scale notes, can be a simple one as well. Doing a fast solo is cool in metal but not all solos in metal have to be ultra technical. Some great metal solos use blues licks up to speed, couple of runs, arpeggios lines etc. Connect them together in a natural way and you will get a cool sounding solo.
