Hey guys !

As jafomatic quite wisely said, I've been on a shopping extravaganza, so now I want to harvest the fruits of my labour ! smile.gif I've been doing some recording using my Line 6 POD Studio GX (Pod Farm) and Reaper.

My first recording took place yesterday, and I feel I'm getting more confident and competent. I've been recording non-stop for an hour or so today, so you might notice some songs are a bit sloppy ! smile.gif

List of songs (in order of recording)

1. Level 2 - Jumping Around, Beginner - Muris Varajic
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/jumping-around-beginner/

2. Level 3 - Guitar Loves Piano - Piotr Kaczor
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/guitar_loves_piano/

3. Level 4 - Iron Maiden Style - David Wallimann
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...n-maiden-style/

4. Level 4 - Little Finger Etude - Dejan Farkas
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/little_finger_etude/

5. Level 4 - Ballad in the Style of Eric Johnson - Jose Lassaga
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/ballad...f_eric_johnson/

6. Level 5 - Heavy Metal Rhythm & Solo Exercise - Hisham Al-Sanea
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/heavy-...-solo-exercise/

Files downloadable down here ! You will most likely see me on REC quite soon, I'm waiting for my Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 to arrive by mail ! smile.gif

Songs are all 256 kbps, except for song 1 (196 kbps) smile.gif

Please try to listen to every song and criticize my playing as much as possible so that I can become a more advanced guitarist... I would actually appreciate it if the instructors could try grading the song using the REC chriteria, although posture can be left out... All your time is greatly appreciated ! smile.gif

Jumping around is great! I listened few others, very good job, few mistakes here and there, nothing important...

Nicely done - I am at a similar stage so I am finding your recordings to be good incentives. I am particularly impressed with the Dave's Iron Maiden lesson - that was one of the first lessons I learned when I joined GMC a year ago. However, I found some of it to be a little fast for me then but your recording has inspired me to revisit the lesson to see how I have progressed in a years time. Thanks.

Wow ! It's an amazing feeling to know one influences others, but I honestly doubt there is much to take from my playing ! smile.gif I'm at a rookie stage yet ! I'm glad to hear you're revisiting the Iron Maiden lesson, it's a great band, so you should learn some of their songs as well ! smile.gif

Actually, there is a number of things that I can get from your playing - most importantly inspiration! I find that even if I don't bother learning some of the lessons, I am finding that I am a lot smarter now when I practice because of a lot of little things I pick up day to day (also good at busting your ego as the ideas I am picking up on a daily basis has been increasing rather than decreasing which suggests I have a long way to go....lol). I do think that revisiting old lessons can be very valuable and your post reminded me of that (I think we need to be continually reminded of that fact).

Yeah - Iron Maiden has been one of my favourites for a long time - particularly to play along with as their songs tend to be guitar from the first to last note. I love a lot of the newer progressive stuff but I find playing them somewhat annoying when you go 30 sec without guitars (although these seem to be nice for improvising).

If somebody work as hard as you, sooner or later will become a good guitar player! Bends and vibratos are not so perfect yet, but this is not a big problem. This is one of the most difficult parts at the guitar-study.
I also used line6 studio GX and this is a great soundcard! The distortions are not so perfect in it but the effects are professional! Nice work and practise practise practise! Congrats!
