Thx Buzz, some of these day's I will go totally under the hood of this app. It let's you switch tubes, calibrate them, insert new items in the amps signal path and much more. It's like playing a computer sim game, but it's about amps. Totally weird, but I just love this kind of stuff.....

hey staf, WOW i didn,t realize it was that indepth of a program? sounds awesome i think with some tweaking it sounds like you can really get the sound your looking for! i know for myself my sonar8 came with guitar rig 3 and i,m not impressed with it at all! actually i don,t even like it, maybe i don,t have it set up right, but i fooled with it a long time and still could not come up with a decent sound, so maybe this could be the answer???

Like I wrote in the review, this may be mostly for metal/rock players. I just love Amplitube Fender at the moment, but I agree to that it's hard to get a real good sound out of GR3, but GR4 is better... Btw. have You tried some of the presets Muris has made? I think there are some that sounds really good, check the lessons or just ask him....

I downloaded the demo, used it as plugin in REAPER through line 6 pod farm on bypass mode (tuner), but it didn't sound very well... This isn't really plug and play I gues?

Hmm, I can't tell so much about REAPER/POD since Im using Cubase/TC Electronics Konnekt 48. But the essence of what these guitar amp simulators actually does, are highly dependant on the sound card = e.g the better sound card, the better sound. I can get it to sound reasonable good, even that I think the sound is more for "metal". Then of course, a lot of of tweaking must be done - but it's the same in the "real" world. I rather will say that no software I came across so far is "Plug & Play", since the presets must be adjusted and other effects/EQ in the DAW might be added as well. Try it with some pedals, or with the sounds from the POD without speaker simulation maybe? These software programs seems to be like the real amplifiers - no manufacturer can make the whole setup.

I will put up all the new reviews on the sim's in the excel-file when I have gone thróugh a couple of more's as well as update all pages regarding this, a good thing might be to offer the excel-file for download, so that other can add as well... is it possible ???

Oh, I was referring to the actual links to individual reviews within the entry, I didn't see the link to this one there smile.gif

As for the excel file you could add it as a download in one of your posts, for instance here, and then create a link to the download at the wiki. At least that's how I link to backing tracks & final collab mixes from the forums in the wiki wink.gif

Oh, You was meaning that. I was thinking of having the page with the comparison chart as a "master" page for them all - then You dont have to update everyone when a new item is reviewed, if You look under "Alternative Weapons", You will find the following: "Instead of recommending alternative weapons here, I decided to move this section to the master page for Computer Guitar Amp Simulators. " That shall bew done on all reviews pages, and then all links can be at the master page....
