Awesome - Chris you are the man!! biggrin.gif This is excellent, melody is all over it and you used the intro break in a very clever way. This will be a killer collab - can't wait to hear what more contributions we get.

PS To everyone who has submitted a take - please send me the guitar only audio!

I agree, it took me some time also to work something out for this backing, but once I hit on an idea it all made a lot more sense, now I`ve been sitting with it I have some additional ideas that I want to work into my take, thanks for your comments smile.gif

Good to hear Chris. It struck after posting this thread that the backing probably is pretty weird - I don't know why but it seemed natural to me (and I have never listened to polka!!)

However judging from your comment - it seems I did the right thing if it gets people thinking in new directions.

Can't wait to hear your other takes!

Wooow, all those killer takes scare me off!
I think of trying it but I'll propably fail. I'm not a pro like you guys.
You have some hints/tricks to help? Should I use Minor scale?

if you check my take, I chose the heavy metal riff to do it. It's in Ebm that part, so yeah, I actually used Ebm pentatonic

here's my take with no backing:

Just listened to your takes, Gabriel and Chris... excellent !! Very melodic.... I personally found Kris's chord choices challenging... but when I listened to it it inspired this funny little polka type melody in my head which is what I went with, so it's really interesting to see the melodic directions that you've taken.. much like Kris's guitar lines himself !

Can't wait to hear this !

What a killer, wacky backing! Great job on that, very unexpected! I did a take over a small chunk in a pitch black room using my fret light guitar. Here is the video clip. I can post the track as well later if you decided to use it in the mix Let me know what you think smile.gif
