*grmbl* hate it when that happens. I have a "back" button right along where my arrow kets and right shift and right control ate, sometimes when I have writtena buch I accidently press it and everything is lost. Sometimes I can return to the same place and what I've written remains bu pressing the forward button, but not always, there seem to be no logic in it.

Give it a go later on, would be interesting to know the riffs you like. smile.gif

Won't work after a crash MickeM but if all you've done is hit the wrong button by accident then sometimes you can replace by searching for and using the correct temporary file (extensions are*.tmp).

For crash protection I use Ghost backing up on to an external USB2 drive. I also keep and write critical files (ie music I record) on a sata array setup as a mirror raid. After a crash I restore (if you've set a restore point!) the o/s and program files then I can pull of the mirror if the main data disc got goosed.

Seriously winXP and Vista are not bomb proof so good backups, ghost imaging, restore points, mirror raids are IMO de riguer for home recording.

Cheers,
Tony
