i want to know wich equipment is necassary to get a warm and dynamic sound like slash, hendrix,BB king
and so much more???

Well your topic title says you need a gear for shredder!?! "what is a "must" for a shredder" - Slash, Hendrix and BB King sure don't fit in the category you wanted! So i leave this to the experts in style you requested!

I was TOTALLY thinking the same thing so I have done us all a favor and translated the original thread title:

"Equipment Needed!, what is a "must" for a [blues/rocker]!!!"

And on that note I'd suggest a brand new guitar (don't spend less than $4,000 USD), an original Fender Twin Reverb (only use old-stock tubes at no less than $500 USD per retubing), be sure that your picks are Gold Plated, and all your cables are custom built by Industrial Light & Magic.

This should only be considered as a starting point. Hope that helps!

Let's give it a shot then

I don't know ther common denominator beween Hendrix, Shash and BB king. Hendrix = Fender + Marshall, Slash = Gibson + Marshall.
So from this point we could say tube Marshall, none for the guitar sort, but then BB kind plays Gibson and some Fenderish kind of amp, and if I'm not mistaken it's a solid state.

So in general if we compare these three there's no good answer comparing their equipment, instead lets just say they all know how to play guitar very well

If you're looking for an amp that can deliver what you stated you should look at a very low watt tube amp (say 5W is enough) which you can cranck for playing home. Or a solid state maybe with tube simulation, I wouldn't know but the SS posse speaks with warmth of their solid state amps.

About the guitar, I wouldn't go for the cheapest guitars but anything above would do, there's so much to choose from regarding what sound you're after.

Then of course you can color your sound a bit with use of effect pedals. Check this out for an idea of what they all can do for you.

and if you can afford a gibson, get a secondhand epiphone and put some decent pickups in it. or a secondhand squire and put some decent pickups in it

If that is too expensive, what about a mexican strat? If I'm not mistaken it's the same hardware as an American stratocaster, just that its made in Mexico.

I was using comic sarcasm to point out that it doesn't matter what we tell Misha. This person REALLY needs to go play tons of equipment until they find the sound they are looking for. Every "what should I buy" post comes down to the same thing... audition equipment!!!

As much as my completely ridiculous suggestion should be ignored, so should everyone else's really. You gotta find your sound for yourself... and nothing we tell you should be taken as more than just the slightest suggestion of a starting point.

But, I WAS in a bad mood yesterday and probably shouldn't have posted that since people tend to not get my dark sense of humor. So for that I apologize.

I'm just afraid that sarcasm like this could scare away beginners, the ones who needs a gentle guiding most and they will hesitate to post again.

I would however recommend we sticky a nice compilation of guitar and amp suggestions for people trying to suit different styles. This may help beginners and reduce repeat thread questions like this. I think I will start a thread to this affect tonight and get the GMC community to help out! Again, it would only be a starting point.

I think every suggestion counts, well except for that $4000 gold piece guitar and the general ide isn't to point out this or that guitar and this or that amp. When lots of people add various suggestions it will in the end give the requestor an idea or what people like and what they don't like. There's actually a bit too few posts about dislikes and I think it's because noone wants to come down on someone elses equipment, which keeps the merry mode up but may not give the requestor all the input he or she needs.

So the idea with all these questions, as I see it is to start a discussion, I'd like to see misha here again as the counterpart we're suposed to feed input to since I'm hoping misha would process the ideas so this could start take shape of an idea of some sort.

A Sticky is a good start and for the individual selection of equipment we'll keep these discussions. I understand a beginner will have thousands of questions and maybe feel the investment is large so if we can give a few pointer the desicion of what to get in the end could feel less of a gamle.

Your options all seem to be really expensive....
couldnt he just go for a fuzz pedal, blues pedal and wha wha pedal...join them all up....send them through a clean amp...and he would have a pretty good sound right there?
