Since food topics are very popular in our forum biggrin.gif I decided to open up a discussion regarding the nasty part of eating smile.gif I for one, have been brought up by my folks, by learning how to enjoy all sorts of stuff, from molded cheese to seafood and other things which might seem nasty to some people. But there are things which I would be a little reluctant to eat, such as those half hatched eggs which can be encountered in some parts of Asia or beetles, or raw monkey brain.

What's your biggest food turn-off? biggrin.gif Let's share our experiences!

For me it is steak. I am not a big fan of red meat. I lean more towards fish than any other type of protein. It really sucks because the restaurant I work at is pretty well known in the area for its steak, so I end up cooking that a lot. I have no problem with burgers or burritos or anything else because I can hide them with lots of delicious vegetables.

I might as well be a vegetarian laugh.gif

The place where we performed last night is an American oriented spot and they have burgers like they cook em in the USA biggrin.gif just had one and it felt good - I know it's not the healthiest thing to have, but once every 2-3 months it can go by unnoticed biggrin.gif right?

Yup! I had one for dinner last night. We have a fast food chain down here in Southern California called In-N-Out. They are really well-known across the entire country for their food. It is the one burger I can never resist. I can manage to eat all the unhealthy foods I want because I happen to run a lot. So long as my body decides that it isn't TOO unhealthy laugh.gif

If that happens then my body forces me to throw up. It is really unfortunate sometimes. dry.gif

Not sure really, but usually foreign food have quite different taste them local, it's different chemistry all together, so it takes a while to get used to it. So, most of foreign food may taste strange in the beginning, the further I'm away from home, the worse it gets.

As far as some local specialties, tongue, brains or similar stuff.. wouldn't like to taste it smile.gif

I got a protein dish in Egypt 5 years ago; liver, kidney, brains... My brain will probably turn to pudding soon.

I remember going to language school in Hastings for three weeks.
We got sandwiches with SPAM, but always ended up buying burgers instead.

There is also a point in the words alcohol poisoning. I never drink more than one small drink at a party, mostly I just stay clear of it.
Not that I've ever been an alcoholic, but it just doesn't fit my image, being a physical therapist who runs marathons, and needing to
be a role model.

Oh yeah, eggs and cheese are not favorites on my breakfast table

My worst nightmare 'food' is black pudding / blood sausage, I can't stand that stuff...

I've tried it once when I was like 12, one mouthful, spat it out and almost vomited then and there, ran to the bathroom to puke.
This was at a fine high class restaurant, lol!

Anything like snails, eel, octopus, testicles or any sort of 'delicacy' which is derived from animal faeces.

And tomotoes.

I gotta say I liked the fried grasshopper I tried in Thailand laugh.gif and I like every kind of seafood, including eel and octopus. And I love snails. Maybe we shouldn't go out together for dinner, Ben. Oh wait...let's go to Dunkin' Donuts together! The question is, will there be a donut left for me...?

I've never liked fish too much... however my mother prepaired "Salmon" for the end of years and I decided to taste it. It's not my favourite foo but I like it. One month ago I decided to taste sushi and I disliked it a lot!! I was near to vomit... wacko.gif

I had a dream last night where I was in some computer game and there was this part where we could make donuts.. it didn't work very well and for some reason everybody was tiny and the environment was huge.

Maybe because I watch the film Ratatoullie a few weeks ago it made me think of being a miniture creature in a kitchen ?! rolleyes.gif
