Gab your got serious chops going on here cool! If I can say the bit I least liked (for feed back) was the start of the break down, IMVeryHOgrandinstuctor.

Man, this is so awesome! Love that fusion-like stuff in the middle section (well, for me it sounds like fusion biggrin.gif )

Heres a harse one Gab...

While most seems to go with the flow, the fast bits n pieces seems to be repeating and I have the feeling, oh hes playing the same lick, similar pattern, timing maybe.. so, I guess if you can diversify those pieces, it would sound wonderful! smile.gif reminds me of satch style jam.. smile.gif

EDIT: Let me be particular..

the first solo is perfect, probably the silences before you start the 2nd is bit odd.

First part, you are playing slow, fast, slow fast, slow fast.. which seems repeating for me. maybe the pattern and similar fast lick

fast lick at 0.44 and 1.05 can go (the 0.44 sounds odd with the backing, and 1.05 might be too much since you have the legato going before that, maybe slow a bar and then continue)

the end verse is pretty good. smile.gif

Well, you don't have to take it. I am no way a pro and I even can't come up with a decent lick. Just posting it as a listener and you asked for it. smile.gif

Hey Gab, this rocks big time ! cool.gif

Well my first advice would always be: Don't listen to us !!!

After that, I would put myself in the shoes of the listener or the judges of the competition. They would be looking for evidence of control and mastery over expression more than anything so perhaps some variations of bending will add some extra aspects to the solo. You have a nice, very rounded overall tone - a bit like Vinnie Moore so perhaps some pinch harmonics as well to add an occasional detour to the overall tone and some brightness.

But.. I also go with my first comment. It's your solo - you know best ! cool.gif

Sounds great man, you sure spiced it up with some awesome playing, and I really like the themes. Ben gave a nice suggestion, I think I can relate to it, and recommend a bit more expressiveness. When the slower part starts maybe a bit more bends, vibratos, and a bit softer tone. It's a bit "dry" if I dare to say it ph34r.gif I understand this may be a bit harsh thing to say, I hope I won't offend you in any way. This take can easily be the winner, you are master of guitar and it would be really satisfying for me to play some of those licks. Your vision is what counts in the end, we are just observers.

Thanks Ivan! That's why I posted it here! I want all of you to be very strict with the feedback. I can't really understand what you exactly mean by "Dry". Is it about fx? Is is that you find is boring?

This sounds great!! biggrin.gif

Really impressed by this one, only thing that I would personally do, and this is just me, but in the slower jazzy part of the backing track I would go slower and make it more melodic and smooth etc, and have a break from all the crazy speed wink.gif

That's just me though. I'll be posting my take up here on GMC soon as well smile.gif

I would put a bit more space, and more bends/vibratos in, and I think it rocks, it's not boring at all.

Sounds amazing! Lots of very tasteful sounding licks throughout. Not sure I have much to critique as I strive to be able to play this precisely!

Parts that stood out to me:

I really like the sweep run :14 Just a minor critique as a listener, I thought the transition back into the melody there could be smoother? I guess I mean it seemed like there is a slight pause/ hesitation. Unless its intentional then ignore my comment smile.gif The melody there is real catchy.

At that part where Fireball commented. That sounds brilliant! I love how it has the right palm muting and builds the tension back into the rocking part.

The Zakk Wylde style lick at the end sounds awesome!

Hi mate! Every comment is more than welcome! smile.gif

As this is a demo, I recorded each section in different takes so I think that everything will sound smoother when I play it all in one take.

thanks for the comment!
