Yeah, i'm starting to notice By the way, as I have a lot of time right now, i'm a bit tired of doing the same lesson again and again so I was thinking in starting the Him lesson. I haven't found a description of the gear used to get the tone for this lesson, can you tell me what you used for each guitar? Thank you Hi mate. It's been a while since I recorded this lesson so I don't remember the exact parameters but I'm sure that it's a combination of a emulated Mesa Boggie with an emulated Tube Screamer to give it more gain and sustain. -------------------- My lessons

I've made a lot of practice with the backing tracks at all speeds in order to be able to do this right (The 150bpm backingtrack was very useful ) . I'm not completely satisfied with this take though because i've a few timing mistakes, specially at the beginning (with is odd, as is the easiest part for me). It's a little bit frustrating not being able to make a perfect take, there is always some mistake in one part or another. Sex Pistols Style at 130bpm: Can you give me the backing tracks for the Him lesson? For what i've tried so far it's gonna be very difficult for me, so i'll need the slowest backing track available. Thank you, i'm having a lot of fun with your lessons Hi man! You did a good job with this lesson! You are very close. You still have to concentrate on timing to play it even tighter with the drums, and also make the silence between chord changes smaller. Besides that, it would be cool if you can add some distortion to your tone to get a sound closer to Sex Pistols. These are the backings... backing_60.mp3 ( 3.21MB ) Number of downloads: 70 backing_80.mp3 ( 2.37MB ) Number of downloads: 66 backing_100.mp3 ( 1.89MB ) Number of downloads: 69 -------------------- My lessons

Hi Gab, it's been a looooong time since last time i wrote.
I'm redoing the last lesson i worked with you, the Him lesson. Here is what i have so far: https://soundcloud.com/jorge-fern-ndez/him-style I would love to have your feedback on this. My intention is to send it to Rec this weekend along with the blues lesson that i'm doing. Obviously i have to make improvements if i wont to have a good note (You guys have become very hard ), what do you think that i should focus on? Thanks PS: Todays take https://soundcloud.com/jorge-fern-ndez/him-style-20-08-2013 I think i've improved the first riff, but i still have problems with the E5 to C5 chord, how do you manage to keep the notes ringing while you change the chords, i always have an audible pause This post has been edited by Nether: Aug 20 2013, 08:00 PM |

Hi mate, great to hear from you here!
You are doing a good job with this and you really know what you need to improve to be able to play this one perfectly: the chord changes, the silence between chords and parts to make everything sound smoother. My suggestion is to work on small sections, just starting with 2 chords and practicing it trying to make the silence shorter. Move from one chord to the other as a loop, over a metronome or drum rhythm concentrating on your hands movements, on where the fingers will go, first set your sigh on the target and then move your fingers. If you work on this as an exercises, everyday, you will notice a big improvement. -------------------- My lessons

Hi mate. At first let me say: a video take made at the lesson's main tempo is always ready for REC. Th purpose of REC is allow us to give you feedback during your progress so always feel free to post takes there, no matter if you are sure that it's not perfect.
Your take is good but there are still things to work on. The first half is the muted section. This part still needs some experimentation with your palm muting technique. You have to try different strengths and positions trying to get a tone closer to mine in the video. Another difference there is that I use on string in this part, I'm playing just the root of each chord. There are also some timing issues there. In the chorus, the chord changes are smoother now but there is a wrong chord at 1:13, there is a variation there so please re-check the tabs starting from that minute. Regarding lessons to work, I would choose any other rhythm lesson... checking my archive, these are the lessons that you could check and start learning: Sum 41 Style Millencollin style Ratt Style Motley Crue Style https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/instructo...briel-Leopardi/ -------------------- My lessons

Hi Gab! I've been working on the Ratt lesson and i have a question. I think you play almost everything only with downstrokes (except a couple chords), am i right? It feels more comfortable for me to use only downstrokes, but i wanted to be sure that not doing something wrong before i get any farther Hi mate, yes! I'm using only downstrokes on the main riffs of this lesson. You'r right. -------------------- My lessons
