Ok Marcus i'm working on a solo now, as you want 8 people doing it roughly how long do you want it?

The key is D-minor, but the pentatonic blues scale (in D) works great as well smile.gif

Hey Steve,

Each solo part should be the same length as the test solo I recorded (which starts at 01:27 min) and it lasts about 14 seconds. So basically - just start playing when my solo stops, and then go on until the backing tracks ends.

Looking forward to hear what you guys come up with! smile.gif

ok, I've added some of the riffs now, and I recorded a little part of the solo just to let you know where it starts. I also moved the riff that didn't really fit, but maybe we should take it away. What do you guys think?

For starters I'm thinking 8 people should play a solo. So just send me your solo without the backing track!

Who's up for this? smile.gif
(you don't need to use the PODxt preset for the solo)

Here's the updated file:

Awesome job, great solo Marcus, I was thinking though maybe it would be more intresting if you the first 4 soloers solo on one key, and then the other 4 on a diffrent key, OR every soloer will solo for 7 seconds on one key and 7 seconds on another?

Here's my idea of how a verse would go, atleast the first verse, the idea here is less words.

Here's some example random lyrics to sing along the melody:

I, don't, Know, what, to, say, or, do

I, feel, so, damn, hollow, and, I don't know, what to sayyy.

It's a very simple Idea so if you like it feel free to expand it!

I think this is perfect - do we have an expansion of this? smile.gif

Hey Marcus,

I wrote some lyrics here as an idea if you want to make this a GMC related song. Basically it starts with the lyrics of the first verse -

:19 seconds start verse

Are you ready to Rock

Are you ready to Roll

Then grab your guitar

And get out of control

From Zero to Hero

Healty to Insane

So if you're ready to rock

then get in the game

:34 Chorus

Are you Ready

Ready to Roll

Are you Ready

to Get out of Control

:51 Verse

1:06 Repeat Chorus

1:20 another .wav sample from Kris

After the 5 guitar solos, fade out the song out with a cool effect on a voice that repeats the chorus.

If you don't like it, or if it it sucks, then obviously throw it out! wink.gif

I would like to take one of the 5 solo slots if possible.

If you like these lyrics then I'll work on Verse 2. Before I did I wanted to throw out this idea since I haven't contributed yet. Let me know! Thanks - and what an awesome solo you did, as usual.

Something doesn't quite sound right yet but i have to go to work now eeeurgh... so let me know what you think of it so far if you like the idea of this. If you don't i came up with plenty of ideas earlier i'm sure i can come up with more tongue.gif

Oops forgot to include a file...

By the way i've recorded using audcity, hence why the quality isn't so good

Jeff - this if awesome!!! Do we need to make the verse riff twice as long, to make these lyrics fit?
The chorus is just perfect! Love it! biggrin.gif

Steve,
why would you want to change this? It sounds awesome and it fits right in!
Here's the updated song, with your solo included.

Oh btw, I doubled the second chorus.

thanks Marcus. I think they can fit with the existing track. I probably should have put them together differently to give you an idead of what I meant - like this:

Are you ready to Rock, Are you ready to Roll
Then grab your guitar(or axe) and get out of control
From Zero to Hero,Healty to Insane
So if you're ready to rock, then get in the game

I'll write some more and 'll see if I can throw them in where I think they might fit and send it back. And of course it would be great if we got some others to add to it! smile.gif

I've got a Heil Talk box that would sound cool on a lead or riff somewhere in this song. I'll use it for a lead and post it here for you to check out. smile.gif

Hey Marcus, just listened to the updated song and it's sounding great smile.gif. Can't wait for the vocals and stuff to come in. Do you need anything else to go into this like any more riffs or anything? I'm away next week for a whole week so that means no GMC for a week sad.gif. Don't worry though i'm tkaing my guitar and amp tongue.gif
