Hey Gabriel

Just some more kudos from another member of your fan club smile.gif

I'm loving the Janes Addiction lesson and I've looked at the RHCP/Zakk Wylde one but have yet to try. However it also looks great. I've been slowly going over some of your older lessons and it amazes me every time how broad you musical stylings are. Whether it's blues or metal, rhythm or lead you seem to be very comfortable playing it all. Your lessons motivate me to keep playing and I've even started to improvise a bit over a few of them....which is something I never thought I'd be able to do (hope you don't mind). This has given me confidence like you couldn't imagine and I'd just like to say thanks. So thanks smile.gif I've said it before but your lessons are a big reason I joined GMC and I look forward to whatever you throw our way in the future.

rok

PS: we seem to have the same taste in music. I was just wondering what are some of the groups you have been listening to lately?

Hi rok!! It's so nice to find a message like this in my personal sub-forum, Thank you! smile.gif I'm very glad to hear that you are improving and being inspired by my lessons. I really love every lesson I record and I put many efford to make good music on them. The main purpose of my lessons is to help you (and all GMC students) to improve your technique while playing some real musical and funny stuff.
As you could see I like lot many styles, and I'm always trying to know new or different music. The bands that I have been listening lately are Bullet For My Valentine, Linkin Park (Minutes to midnight), 30 seconds to mars (A beautifull lie), David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust), Jane's addiction (Kettle Whistle), Thom Yorke's soloits album, Marylin Manson (last album) and at this moment I'm listening to Frank Zappa's Hot Rats album, it's very strange but this kind of music usually opens my mind!!

Besides this thursday I'll see Incubus live here in Argentina. I'm very excited about it. smile.gif

And you? what bands have you been listening?

gabriel.-

Incubus that is awesome. I have all their albums. My favourite songs would be "Wish you were Here" and "Anna Molly". I'm sure you'll have a blast at the concert. You'll have to do a review smile.gif

As for what I'm listening too, well I've been on a celtic punk kick the last few weeks so a lot of Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. Thanks to your lesson though I've pulled out some Janes Addiction and that has put me in a nostalgia mood as of late so I've dug out some Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Stone Temple Pilots and some Radiohead (don't have Thom's solo album yet) all great stuff. But I've also been listening to Bullet for my Valentine (The Poison), Billy Talent (Billy Talent)...they are a Canadian Band, not sure if you've heard them, Velvet revolver (Liberstad), Funeral for a Friend(Tales Don't tell themselves), Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson(greatest hits) and Muse( Origin of Symmetry).

rok

PS: I love David Bowie especially Ziggy Stardust such a great album "Suffragette City" and well of course "Ziggy Stardust" would be my faves. I may have to dig that one out and listen to it again smile.gif Zappa is great but yes very strange. He's an aquired taste I think.

Hey Rok! you really have very similar taste in music! Velvet Revolver (I've seen them live this year, I'm so happy), RHCP, STP, Soundgarden (Chris Cornel is coming soon to Argentina), Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Manson (I've seen him live the last week), Muse (We play Hysteria as acover with Cirse!!).... I love every one of those bands. I have Funeral for a friend's first album I think, and it has very nice songs. ... The last Rob Zombie's album is very good. I don't know Billy Talent but I'll try to hear some music of them...

Wow you get to go to some great shows smile.gif The last concert I was to was the Rolling Stones last fall (Alice Cooper opened). I had plans to see Velvet Revolver and Van Halen this year but work has put the screws to it sad.gif Hysteria is one of my favourite Muse songs, do you have any links so I can hear your cover?

I'm at work right now but this evening I'll post some links to Billy Talent so you can have a listen. Like I said I really like their first album but the second not so much.

EDIT: As promised here is some Billy Talent
These are from the first CD Billy Talent:
