EDIT: Oh, and concerning Dissection, aren't they considered black/death? If we're talking about the swedish band with Jon Nödtveidt as the front man that is.

yea I kinda figured that about them. I was listening to The Somberlain and there deffintley black metal from what I am hearing. Man Jon is crazy for taking his life like that. Kinda like Dead but less gruesome.

http://www.myspace.com/dissection - This Dissection band is definatly not black. Sounds like In Flames or something.

http://www.myspace.com/dissectionrip - Here's another one, sounds kinda like Immortal. Sounds sort of like black metal.

http://www.myspace.com/dissection502 - Popular name.

http://www.myspace.com/elianasmuthafuckinmusic

Theres also more. None of it was black metal in my ears. Some of if sort of sounded like black metal though, but I wouldnt really call it black metal bands just becuase of a couple of riffs or because the vocals sounded black.

Well biggrin.gif Dunno wich one of these bands to put on the list. I guess The Uncreator will decide tongue.gif

Well on Storm of the Light's Bane they were more black/death. Reinakaos is terrible and not what they used to sound like.

omg how could i forget some of the best prog bands i have ever laid my ears on!

Maudlin of the Well
Kayo Dot

Technically Maudlin of the Well departed from each other and some members formed Kayo Dot. Most same members, different music.

Calling Maudlin Of The Well a prog band is not a very good description. There music can go from pop music melody, jazz music passages to doomish death metal. Its really fascinating when they combine all this elemnets into one song. Masterfully mindblowing expirience. They sometimes call there music Astral or so i have heard. I highly recomend them.
