Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Hi Cosmin

Im having trouble with my "homework" The issue is changing the melodys notes. I think im understand the concept of changing the scale to another mode, its just the melody seems trickier to change. espesially with certain scales where lots of notes change. So im not sure sometimes which note to pick(up or down). Hmm this is harder to explain than i thought.
Any tips? It would be much appreciated

Tim

Hiya Cosmin

Ive got a video for you! Unfortunatly its not one that you gave me. Need a little more time with them.
This one was on my practice list for a long time, so i thought it was time to unleash it! Enjoy!

Hey Tim! I think it sounded great man! You have a very relaxed style of playing and it offers flow to all your takes smile.gif What it could use, would be a bit more percussive picking at times, more definition somehow, but just in some spots!

Anyway, this is a little detail - try and be more percussive and it will be just awesome! biggrin.gif

I understand perfectly wink.gif Sometimes, when the melody is TOO far fetched by changing ALL the necessary notes to use ONLY that mode which you are trying to emphasize - improvise a bit just to offer the melody a normal course wink.gif It's a bit of steeling tongue.gif As I like to call it wink.gif

Heya Cosmin,
Im looking for something new to do. I need more time with bens, Legato and vibrato lessons to really get the technuique right. and the Gary moore lesson is great, but my fingers have gone soft on me from my recent downtime. Those bends start to hurt a bit smile.gif

I really enjoy lastnights video chat and it made me realise that i havnt really done much rhythm guitar stuff here at GMC. So im thinking of going in that direction for a little bit just to mix things up a bit. I was looking at maybe your metal metrics lessons, or do you have any others to recomend?
What do you think?

Cheers
Tim

Howdy Tim!

Thank you! I had a lot of fun at the v-chat myself biggrin.gif and of course, I would be honored if you would like to start working on those biggrin.gif

I suggest we start with the Breaking Benjamin style lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Breaking-Benjamin-Style/

It's got the simplest elements and then continue with Metal Metrics 4, what say you?

Hey Cosmin

Sounds good mate! I'll get right on it!

Got a rec of your riffs done. The rec program is starting to bug me because its constantly bringing up problems with my playing! dry.gif Annoying, But in the long run its a great thing!
Im not really used to playing in these low tunings so, im not quite used to the string tensions. Stuff sounds a little sloppy sometimes, so 170 was as high as could it and still sound resonably good. Ill work on it more and push it higher!

Hey Tim! Great tightness man! I like it, but towards the late part of the groove you messed things up a bit! biggrin.gif I will record the whole thing and post it on YT for you in a few hours, ok? And one more thing - when the breakdown starts, use your right hand to mute and stop the strings rather than playing staccato - it will allow the chords to ring a bit while palm muted, offering that heaviness!

Good work mate!

Cosmin

Ill get to work on the metal metrics

Also, the v-chat yesterday was great! That track turned out great! It was interesting to to see different players approachs to the process!

Hey Tim! Nice one mate! I like the way you approached it with the pick instead of fingers tongue.gif I usually play that theme with the fingers, in the beginning.

Hey Tim - go for the whole bunch biggrin.gif I am incredibly curious to see how you fare with it!

For this one - the vibrato should be wider and more aggressive (use more fingers when you vibrate - one will not do the trick)!

BTW - congrats - the microbends and bends are technically correct and in groove - very, very well done!

Cosmin!

Hey man, Sorry for the lack of work, its been a crazy couple of weeks and just had no time to get anything done. But its all calm again now, so time to work. Oh, and yes this stuff is WELL out of my comfort zone!

Ok, Finnish folk song

Heres the breakdown of the song. The melody lines are roughly maped out.

Part 1
C#, C#, D#, E, E, B, C#
E ,E ,D#, E, D#, E, F#, E, D#, E, D#, B, C#, C#

Used Notes: C#,D#, F,F#,G#. So Either E Major or B Major at this point

Part 2 from 1:24
C#, G#, G#, F#, G#, F#, E, E,
E,E, F#, G#, F#, G#, G#, F#, E , F#, E, B, C#, C#
With a few variations on this on, Was a bit tricky!
Has an added G# on the note before. A couple variations added an A# (I think) Making this now fit with the B Major

Part 3 from 2:16
C#, D#, E, F#, F# F#, E, D#, E, E
C#, D#, E, F#, F# F#, E, D#,C#, C#
again, a few variations but woring with the same notes as before.

Part 4 from 2:56
G#, F#, E, F#, F#, E, F#, G#, F#, E, F#, F#
G#, F#, E, F#, F#, E, D#, C#, C#
Again variations, but still working within the same notes

OK, overall i found the melodies relativley simple, but they had a lot of small variations and subltleties to make it tricky.

Well Im thinking This song is in B Major. The notes point to bot E and B Major, but the A note was the deciding factor and I think it was an A# in the 2nd Section

Also, would it be correct to say it was in C# Dorian as the parts mostly stated and returned to C#? And would the last section be diiferent also as it started on the G#? Im not too sure on this stuff.

Ok Done! Sorry for the delay. Ill be more dilligent on my homeworks smile.gif Ill work on Human nature next.

Tim
