Not being so knowledgeable in different genres, I have to "plus one" Judas Priest. From their first album released in 1974, they have kept developing with time, both taking part in changing the definition of metal itself and conforming to new trends without losing the slightest bit of their integrity as original musicians.

I may be a bit nasty, but I don't see how Judas Priest have changed that much. To me, Judas, Maiden and AC/ DC are the ones that remained the same through time - the musical elements in their music are unchanged, even though the sound is improving Maybe I am wrong for not being a connaisseur in the field, due to the fact that I never liked Judas Priest, but this is how I see things.

I could probably agree about AC/DC, but maybe that's because I never really liked them.

However, keeping the "musical elements" is partly what I mean by integrity. But they have indeed changed lots over the years. From being rather flower powerish, via "clean" hard rock, experimented with synths on an entire album (Turbo), flirted with speed metal on Painkiller, just to give a few examples.

Well, for me it's the opposite - Pantera is the starting point for all the modern metal bands and two of my band mates from Aria and Voodoo have a Pantera tribute band called Domination

Anyways, I think Lamb of God have changed a lot since their first album which was a lot more death metalish. I prefer their newer stuff especially Sacrament & Wrath . I also think that Muse have changed their style a lot, so far I like all the albums a lot.

Oh Muse, they seem to me like a very interesting band which is not rock n roll all the time but has great songs all the time

Just never got into them. I understand the appeal of them musically but I always thought it was an odd combination with Dime trying to match his Randy Rhoads passions against Anselmo's angry vocals. The vocals always put me off.
