smile.gif I was really impressed by this video! It tells the story of a fantastically fast archer in modern times! Check it out:

That was crazy huh.gif . Shows what you can achieve with deidication to your chosen craft, amazing. I wonder if he has a leaking roof though with all the shots he's missed biggrin.gif

Who knows? I have a guitar playing friend who suddenly decided he wanted to be a pro archer. He took the right time and dedication and now he is preparing himself for the olympics! Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can stop you if you really want to achieve something smile.gif

What an amazing video C-Man, thanks for sharing !

Notice the difference between Anderson's technique and the other archers. He leans forward further so the bow is already far away from him.. that way he doesn't have to pull back his arrow hand as far before he can shoot. So instead of 2 movements (pushing the bow forwards with gripping hand and pulling the string back with arrow hand) he is using just 1 movement where he pulls the string back and lets it fly !

It's interesting to know how much tension is on those bows. I wonder if he is just using his arm or if he is pulling with his back muscles which is what you're taught to do. smile.gif

Either way, the guy is great !

P.S. I love the automated voice narrating, with occasional broken English !!

Hehe! I knew you'd like this one Ben! I had the opportunity to string a horsebow this Sunday - the mongol type. But say, do you have experience with shooting bows?

Sounds great !! biggrin.gif

NO, not really.. only tried a couple of times.. the one thing I remember is the advice about pulling with your back muscles, not just the arm smile.gif

I'd quite like to do more of it, though

I see.. so in that situation you learn to become a complete archer who can deal with his instruments, not just shoot them. That's cool. Learning the complete art !

smile.gif I'm sure Danish people have accomplished a lot more than this wink.gif

How about Lars Ulrich and Hans Christian Andersen?

Well, we used to do re-enactments of all kinds of fighting from the Vikings through to the English Civil War. There is a really big re-enactment group here that only do the Civil War and are called The Sealed Knot. I still know several people that are involved in it.
