rolleyes.gif Hey great players

Last couple day's i get 2 hours stand up former to practise !
I am back in !..becouse of you !..i wanne be able to play exiting things !
And that is what i found on this site !
When i have a break ,i look to the REC!!..verry verry motivated !
Just great what those guy's doing, the take the FRUIT'S FROM PRACTISE smile.gif Yesterday ,when i browse the lessons,i came on
Kristofer Dahl his lesson about alternate picking basics!..great lesson ,verry well explenation !

Somme of the thing he written like ..

However, I have found that the patterns which I can play without using the whole arm - are the ones I can use when improvising. Therefore, I am working very actively on getting rid of the arm movement. Unfortunately - I still have a long way to go

or....

The only way to notice any kind of progress with speedpicking - is to give it an immense amount of time.

So ,when i read this,i completely understand that i have to WORK for it! dry.gif
And whit the backingtracks ,it is fun to practise laugh.gif
And i realise now ,how IMPORTED those basics are!
So that's what i am doing now ,in those 2 hours ,the NAKED BASICS!!

Now me break from the first hour is over ,getting back to guitarworld tongue.gif tongue.gif
What you can see on this vid is sommething of the MOST elementary things on guitar!!
And i have it NOT!!..so i written it down ,and stare to it !!..until it is me second nature ! he he

Congrats on your progress!

ALTERNATE PICKING AND NOT USING THE ENTIRE ARM

it sometimes feels natural to use the entire arm when playing certain fast licks. It's what I call "Playing from the Elbow". However, this technique is IMHO a bit of a crutch. It's possible to play quite briskly using just the hand and wrist. It takes a bit of work, but it's very doable. Here is an example vid. Watch my right hand. Notice how little pressure I'm using and how little tension is going on. Trying to keep the hand relaxed takes practice but it will revolutionize your playing.

We work on this sort of playing every Saturday in my video chat. Also, the notes from the lessons are all about it as well. Here is the link.
