Congrats on your progress!
ALTERNATE PICKING AND NOT USING THE ENTIRE ARM it sometimes feels natural to use the entire arm when playing certain fast licks. It's what I call "Playing from the Elbow". However, this technique is IMHO a bit of a crutch. It's possible to play quite briskly using just the hand and wrist. It takes a bit of work, but it's very doable. Here is an example vid. Watch my right hand. Notice how little pressure I'm using and how little tension is going on. Trying to keep the hand relaxed takes practice but it will revolutionize your playing. We work on this sort of playing every Saturday in my video chat. Also, the notes from the lessons are all about it as well.
