Hey Professor!

I'm a complete newbie in the theory realm. Do you have any tips for someone trying to understand how to create music?

Hey. Glad you are looking to expand your theory chops. You can start with a few lessons I wrote on the forum in my sticky thread at the top of the theory section. Start with the notes on the neck, the triads articles and the theory quick tips. In those three threads you will learn about scales, chords and how those lay in the fretboard. Start there and then if you hit a snag feel free to hit me up with any questions you have about that material. Good luck! smile.gif

I'd just like to update you Professor.

I've been going through the Major Triad lesson and it's really opening my eyes. I'm enjoying the inversion section as well. I have never understood what exactly is needed to make a chord so it's really cool to finally understand this.

Thanks so much!
