I could be very tempted! Will definitely go on my christmas wish list, though it's a long time from now.

My picks generally come with a disappearance rate of 1 a day it seems. I don't know where they all go. When they tear down the walls one day I'm sure they'll be stuffed with picks having somehow jumped in there.

Ben! I totally recommend these! They have an uber tone and they feel great - the new alloys are very durable! I definitely think that:

1) Christmas should come early for you
2) Place your pick around a necklace and you will never lose it ... that soon

I've told my girlfriend about these picks, so we'll see if she's listened! She better! But I'm not sure I can resist for several months! We'll see.

Yeah, I'm sure there are lots of ways. I may have exaggerated a bit though anyway. My picks just tend to fall behind the desk or other places. I'm sure I've lost hundreds during the years!

COSMIN Is spot on THESE PICKS RAWK!! Our very own VONHOTCH here @ GMC is the guy behind these picks. He is in this thread a few posts back, shoot him a personal message and let him know your interest. He's been great about getting these in to the hands of GMCers!

Now, I have a problem - I have mismatched the little bags in which the picks came and I dunno which one is the 7075 and which one is the 2024... I tend to like the one with the clingy sound which feels heavy, a lot better - which one would that be?

The 7075 sheds a bit less. So which ever one leaves a bit of silver dush on your finger, thats probably not the 7075 I'm guessing?

Yeah, I learned it was him after reading this thread when I joined. I'll let him know once we get closer to christmas. Or let my girlfriend know. I've linked her to Von Hotch's website.

Ha ha. I have trouble telling them apart too if I don't know. Both the 7075 and the 2024 should shed less dust that the original. I have two identical ones made from each. I will sit down and remind myself tonight. I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember the answer to this right off. I think you are one of the few who had one of each in identical designs.



Thanks for checking it out. I will be happy to help with anything. Maybe we need to design a pick with one of those ringer tones like when you lose your telephone. You can hit a button and it will beep.

It's not a bad idea at all. I've considered for a while that there ought to be an apperatus where you code in all your belongings that could go missing. You lose your keys? Beep beep beep. Pick gone missing? Bupbupbup. Wallet gone? etc.

But maybe I'm the only one constantly misplacing things.

In May this year, I had a gig with Days of Confusion and when we left downtown to eat something, I forgot my two PRSs in the cab... I can't describe the panic between 5-6 people calling various cab companies - as we didn't remember which cab company we took. Anyway, it seems that a superior force likes me a lot and I stumbled on that very cab, about 10 minutes later on the road I am seriously thinking of getting a tracking device for my guitars when I leave home

The 7075 is a bit brighter, maybe more "clingy", more of an open sound than the 2024 which is a bit darker and fuller sounding. I don't necessarily notice one being heavier than the other though.

Thanks Vonhotch...They arrived today! They look/feel awesome! I have to try them now! I pictured them on my hand with two Jazz III a standard and XL for reference purposes...I thought this would be the best place to post this!



Edit: I have just tried these picks and have the following to report! : Wow
Each feels different in my fingers and I'm not sure which shape I will favour in the future...however none feel awkward so far (I have just played an hour...swapping the three Vonhotch shapes...and also occasionally trying one of the plastic picks. My first thoughts were...the VonHotches sounded slightly brighter (to be expected with Alluminium) than the plastic picks...Somehow my notes seemed cleaner as well (I don't know if that's true...but that's the feeling I'm getting). The other amazing thing was how fast the VH seem to pick across the strings...seriously...there is a difference in speed between plastic and the VH picks. The plastic ones seemed to have a friction that I hadn't noticed before...but in comparison to the VH its easy to Notice. I have to say...VonHotch isn't paying me to say this either! But I like playing with these new toys...they have become a bit addictive. This has surprised me as I didn't think I would like them...But I honestly do!!

Exactly! About the clean bright sound - I noticed it when playing Cemetery Gates from Pantera - all through the clean section it sounded so bright, even and beautiful!

Spiff eh? I noticed the same thing about the INCREASE IN SPEED AND STRING TRAVERSE!!!

The pics seem to glide between the strings where as the plastic picks almost seem to get stuck and require more effort. There is a "fluidity" of play in the Von picks that I just don't feel when using plastic picks.

Cool!!! Thank you very much, Rod. I will be happy to trade picks for art anytime! The smoothness is a really cool feature. In fact it makes a really great nut material too, I think. I used some 7075 for the nut on the guitar I made. And some 6061 for the bridge.
